I'm having issues with a trader on here also sending me body panels only fit for the scrap heap and bargain bucket electrics not to mention he forgot to post crucial parts to me. All the bits have been sent back and it's been over 2 week and still no refund. If you read this and the refund is not with me by the 10/03/2014 I'll be opening a case intent to defraud me.

The only way to kerb this from Traders is to name them in threads and let the search function/google do the rest.

To be fair, moderators have nothing to do with who are or are not given Authorised Advertisers status.

I was going to reply to this thread last night, when I noticed it, but I wasn't really sure what I could say. I've made my feelings clear on here many a time that I don't like to see any member ripped off/messed about (whether by a private seller or trader) as apart from anything else, I wouldn't like it done to me.

I did give Stu a prompt to a thread in policy (https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ion-admin.html) and unless members discussed matters with him privately, it all went quiet on the thread itself, so perhaps Stu didn't feel it necessary to take things any further.

I'm not wanting to push any blame towards members here, but I really do wish people would utilise the iTrader system. If people did, it would make it a lot easier for other members to get an idea of what traders are like to deal with, and for mods/admin to look into when things like this occur. We, and other members, would then be able to contact people directly for more information if problems do crop up. It also helps others decide whether to take a chance in the first place, as threads like this die off and if people don't search, they have no way of knowing if a certain trader or member has given poor service.

Anyhow, as I have no control over things like this, I will highlight it to admin.

But as Moderators you "monitor" threads and the content.

If you continuously see people of low morale virtue and their low life antics, BAN them!

I think that's called moderating.

In the time I have free to give to SN, I don't get to see every thread going, but when I do see something, like I have here, I have passed it on to the relevant person. Like I did with the thread I linked.

When it comes to traders, as they pay a premium, I feel it is up to admin to deal with them as they see fit. They come to the arrangement together, so I think it's only right that they decide how to deal with problems that may occur.

I'm sorry to you (and other members) if that seems like a cop out, and I'm sorry if it comes across that way to admin as well. I can't speak for other mods, but I personally feel like my hands are a bit tied when it comes to traders. That said, to some extent, I feel the same when it comes down to regular members. It isn't up to one mod to go around banning people based on he said/she said without getting the input of other mods/admin and looking into such matters further.

All I can say, is I've passed this on to the higher powers.

But if the moderators did and could ban the traders after each complaint there would be none left on here lol...just don't buy from the obvious bad traders and never pay as gift even with the good ones.best going to collect if possible to make sure of things

Just to push it more, as apparently we don't enough, use iTrader people.

It is the most obvious way to show other people what a trader/member is like to deal with.

If I was to decide to buy something, I'd certainly look at feedback left (just like ebay) and if I stumble on a trader who, on the surface, appears to be offering a good deal, I look at their feedback and it's either good, or at least nothing much bad, what reason would I have as the average joe, not to take a chance?

It's all well and good, threads popping up from time to time, but if they get missed by either us, or members, they are useless in terms of helping other people to decide whether to deal with someone or not. Leaving feedback gives a very visible indicator to other members.

I have been a long time lurker and the itrader system seems like cloak and dagger stuff... it isn't easy to find out about for a newbie, I have no clue about what to do and how to go about learning about it. I am sure it is just a few clicks away, but if it isn't in bright red flashy lights then the common user like me will not know anything about it. Do you maybe need to advertise it and lean on this itrader more? If it is for paid members only then maybe start shouting more about the benefits of full membership?

Apologies if I am too retarded or drunk to know about this stuff, but I honestly haven't seen any links on how to use this system.

You're probably right that it isn't obvious enough, another mod has also picked up on this and has asked whether we can put something more specific about iTrader in the for sale forums. In the meantime, here is a useful link explaining how to use the function.

I don't blame the shysters for trying to rip off members, sad to say a thief will always be a thief, the blame has to be directly pointed at the people in control of the site who after numerous bad feedback about certain sellers on here have done nothing about it.I have read through this thread quickly and that word COP OUT that has been used is exactly what is going on here,If moderators allow this kind of thing to go on unpunished the sellers have no reason to stop ripping off members who buy on here,it's as simple as that really, just my two cents.SJ.

iTrader is difficult to find, difficult to use.

There should be feedback like on ebay.

But Lisa and others have hit the nail on the head...money.

The traders pay...IB get the money. What happens after that? "I see no ships!"

To co-incide with Itrader would it not be a simple thing to implement a star system. IE having 5 stars after your username if you are a good trader. It's easier to see and a universal system everyone uses to establish if something is good or not.
I have had problems with Darren myself. I didn't leave bad feedback because I don't think the majority of people even check. Admin only need check on the cert sellers every so often, check their feedback and edit the username accordingly.

Those stars should then be a clickable link to the users feedback.

Based on that info, I can guess exactly which trader that is
Can't belive though that they didn't mention the quality of calipers prior to selling them though, so surprised at that to say the least.

These are the Legacy Trailing arms I received, (along with other junk)
I wanted to rebush them to replace my own, and I needed brake plates because mine were rusty:

This bush is supposed to be 65mm diameter and ROUND:

How do you even manage to oval cast iron like that?
This is the scrap they wanted me to package up and return.
It all looked like it had been flood damaged a LONG time ago, the brake shoe linings were rusting off the shoes!

If the trader had posted pics of those calipers I'd guarantee they would still be sat in the junk bin in the traders unit because he knows no one would happily hand over their hard earned to purchase them.

Hi there ladies and gents iv stumbled across this thread and feel I need to post a reply..Out of the 3 traders one of them is me the mud flaps which I hold my hands up wasn't as they seem when fitted they was sold as good condition and which on the out look they was good as fitted

I have pictures to prove how good they looked but it seems there is some stains on there what won't come off and a small corner of the Sti logo on one of the I was missing this wouldn't bother prob 90% of customers and after talking and expressing his disappointment me and the op sorted out a part refund I even added a extra bit so he could have a drink on us so he was happy clearly not as happy as we thought tho bring it up on here it looks like he had a run of bad items some much worse than others thankfully ours was very minor and I hope he was happy as he was offered a full refund if the items was returned also

I'm not sticking up for anyone else here we aren't 100% perfect thankfully 99% of our customers are happy with our items and we have a very good customer base who a lot of them I'm now glad to call a friend also all via this site it's not all bad there is the odd cases that do put a downer on places like this but thankfully in our instance it's a very very rare occasion that this happens and we try our very best to sort the problem so the customer is happy even if were out of pocket

I do agree for those's who know how to access the traders scores it's handy but not all transactions are logged because they are a pain to leave feed back and most people don't even know it excises this could do with looking at in my opinion to make it easier to use and access and this isn't just for the traders also general members who also sell a lot of parts which help keep many other subaru's on the road I hope for the op and anyone else involved gets there missing or damaged items sorted and this does not put any member using us in future thank you

Seems to be nothing but scammers and traders who like to bend the truth on here now.

I bought a second hand exhaust, supposedly in excellent condition, it turned up with bent and rusty flanges, ended up going in the bin.

Your reply reads all good and well but the pm's you sent me insisting every part is sent out cleaned and inspected ect ect is a total lie matty, Those flaps arrived absolutely filthy, My first action with them was to clean them and that is when it became apparent they were heavily soiled and would not come clean,. Your initial response was a bit **** to be fair insisting there was nothing wrong with them until I sent you pictures, Then I was accused of being picky!, You then told me to return them AT MY OWN COST for a refund (why should I pay to return your errors) It was only when I told you I would be bringing them back in person as I was in the area a few days later that your tune changed and a partial refund was offered ,.

My gripe here is about the lack of care taken from you so called specialist breakers and your after service,.
The thread was not posted to name and shame "apart from that pikey coont Darren" who deserves all he gets ,
But to make you lot aware that your standards are pretty rubbish to be fair and you need to raise the bar in both quality of parts and attitude towards buyers.
You chose to name yourself on here so please answer the following questions.

1, Why did you not take any responsibility for the ruined parts sent out, Ie blaming others and my expectations until pictures proved my case ?

2, Why did you try and tell me all parts are cleaned prior to posting when they clearly are not ?

3, Why do you feel it is ok to send crap parts out ?

4, What have you done to ensure your workers (you blamed) do not let this happen again ?

5, Are you addressing your returns policy, ie you send tat but expect the buyer to cover return postage ?

And as for a good will drink,,, A fiver,, Come on pal get with it, If you guys did a proper job this would never of got to this stage would it ?

Fairly common practice in terms and conditions for returns, in my limited experience. It's crap though.

I bought a silicon joiner pipe from a trader on Ebay, they sent completely the wrong size. Their returns policy was the same.

So, I sent them a message stating it was their ***** up, and what were they going to do about it. Sent me the correct size one FOC, and got told to keep the one they'd sent incorrectly.
