Cheers, mine's an MY06 WRX with approx 80k on the clock. I was thinking about going down the route of an Andy Forest Hybrid TD04 turbo in a year or so, and saving up for the rebuild at 100k miles. I think I am right in saying there is no difference between the WRX and STi internal engine components (?), so hopefully I should be good for 310 bhp without forging!?!

To save me starting a new thread I will ask in here.
It would seem one of the previous owners decided to fit 6x9 speakers (god knows why) behind the rear seats. I assumed this was just a parcel shelf..however it looks like its part of the car!? Is there anything I can do, I wanted to remove the speakers as I'm not that way inclined but I don't want to be left with two big holes. If there is nothing I can do I will have to neaten the holes up and run the wires properly.
Already removed two halfords add in tweeters somebody decided to fit also, slowly getting the car de chav'd.

Buy a new parcel shelf off one of the breakers on here, shouldn't imagine it would be more than 20 quid posted.
I'd also seriously consider forging before it lets go because sometimes it can damage the bores beyond being able to re-use them, there is also the cost of a new oil modine and crank and a few other bit's and bobs that add up to cost in the region of £500+, which is money you could use to have a new clutch and lightweight flywheel as with 80k on the clock that will be close to the end of it's life, as well as other upgrades such as turbo and a re-map.
Just some food for thought.

Clutch was done 10k ago, what are the common signs the HG is going/gone, there is no loss of power, no hesitation, no oil in coolant etc at the moment. PM send to david @ API

I think but don't quote me, a leak down test is the best way to tell, maybe start a thread asking the question as it's not something i've paid much attention to.

Already had a rough price quoted and budgeted, just interested to know the average time it takes to do the job, but I'de rather be without my car whilst the weather is gash than the summer.
