I love the way this post has slightly wandered off course

French women .... what can I say.....yes, oh yes, oh yes et encore YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

or in other words (and apologies in advance to our resident sexy babe TurboHot ) I've found them very fit, sexy and definitely less occupied with going shopping than UK, they do the romance thing very well and lucky for me the French blokes are crap at it making a rusty old Brit like me quite attractive to them - fun fun and more fun - I've now settled with the right French lady and have a lovely 16 month old son but still get the occasional "extra" offer - however not being a true French-Man and not at all feeling at home with the "Madame et Mistress" thing I'm staying faithful

Didn't speak a word of it when I moved here (O-level failure) - just get stuck in and laugh at your own errors and you'll pick it up - fair to say the same for most places, but French is definitely not a overly complicated language

Oye! Why are you calling me that??? I never claimed something like that- ever!
I'm a non-British, wrinkly, old, unfit lady with a baggage of two older kids, two marriages and two cats. That's hardly a 'sexy babe' material!

Hm. French men can be bit oily, I hear. Mind you, men are men; end of.

Tom Cruise has nothing on me - he can't even speak proper English let alone French and is a short ****

Interestingly the word "gode" in French is the name for a "vibrator" - nuff said, lol

You see, age doesn't count it just a question of having the right batteries

Your missus shouldn't be using it if she has got you, sex gode.

I don't have to use it because I believe in human sex gods, and have full access to them; regardless of all my shortcomings and follies.

I was referring to me in having the right batteries rather than an actual "gode" - never needed anything artificial so far but not discounting the idea

op you could always train up to be a maritime sniper, takes a few years but £40k per 3 month trip, and as you spend all your time in international waters, i don't think you pay any tax. you will need to know the right people though,

somali pirates, don't think uk registered boats have been given permission to have armed guards yet though, it's the companies that own the boat's that pay the big bucks, not the freight companies, i have a mate who is ex services who was offered a job doing just this, but he needed extra training before he could apply, it would appear he has done it though as no one has seen him for about 5 months, 3 afgan tours and 15 years service may well of helped his application though lol

Hmmm - my bro in law was a very good sniper (he became an "official" weapons tester too). That would probably make more than a basic level chippy in Devon!

Sounds terribly risky. I'd rather pay tax than do that.

You say you haven't seen your mate for five months. What if he has been captured by those nasty Somali pirates for his tax free money? Getting captured in the middle of a remote foreign sea sounds much more traumatic than getting shot/beheaded in Afghanistan. May be same. I don't know. But I reckon you'd do it if no one likes you back home. Then again, risk assess with at least financial point of self-centred view whether you want your savings going to Somali pirates, or to the tax man. Then only do it.

not sure if he has gone or not, but he had no job here, his wife was sectioned (lost the plot)he gave up work to care for her and both his kids where taken by the ss so i figure he didn't have a lot to lose, i have seen pictures and video's so i know he aint bull****ting, that's what i hate about this country you do your time/service get taxed to firk and then the system ****s on you at the first chance it gets, i hope he has done it and makes good money an can buy a house when and if he comes back, thats the reason his kids where taken he was made homeless by the system

My bro in law - he's been out of the Army for a while.

Listening to local radio today, it is very apparent how utterly screwed we are - our council are cutting almost everything, so are all Forces, the NHS, EVERYTHING. Meanwhile we pay more and more tax.

Our roads are knackered here - they can't afford to repair them. We're cut off by rail - they are being VERY slow at repairing it. Happy to fling billions at those fu*kwit banks but a proper infrastructure crisis? Ah f£ck them.

This talk of a "recovery" is such utter BS, I am astonished anyone swallows it. We have such a HUGE deficit and so little to pay it, there will be a time when infrastructure crumbles, school and services fail and then we truly are in the ****.

It does make me wonder about emigrating...

No, you've been discussing working offshore to avoid UK taxes to enable you to come back and buy a uk asset those untaxed foreign earnings. Big difference.

France is four times bigger than the UK with the roughly the same population and where I am is still nicely affluent to avoid all the "extras" that are moving into Western Europe to benefit from all those lovely hand-outs. Also important to remember that here in rural(ish) France we're already armed and surprisingly enough have fair less crime

Other than that..... less drug issues, better free schools, better health system, better quality roads, no road tax, cheaper insurance and general cost of living, quality of air, etc. etc. but don't tell anyone as I don't want it changing due to an influx of ex-pats, lol

If they are both sinking your previous statement is misleading, ie that you are sitting back watching the UK sink. You are sinking as well then, as for your 'life raft', I'm not sure what that means.

I'm not sure if a lack of road tax and lower insurance is really a major reason to trumpet a company. And isn't it close to 10% tax to purchase a property?

It would seem France has it's own fair share of immigration issues with significant influx from Africa and EU countries. There are Roma shanty towns outside Paris. The National Front got their biggest share of the vote last year at close to 20% and many predict they will do much better at the European elections.

As for air quality, having not been for many many years, is the air quality in a city like Paris much better than that in London? (genuine question, I don't know)

Income tax rates seem similar, though are believe there are some wealth taxes for the very rich.

You are correct about drug issues, France does well compared to the UK.

Anyway, I'm sure it is a lovely place to live, and the UK has plenty of problems. I'm just not sure it is as bad as some people would like to make out

I thought the majority on here would be happy with this as they are sticking two fingers up at the EU who we all hate anyway. Aren't we fed up with Brussels dictating how we should run our country? HSBC is a global bank with the majority of its business conducted out in the Far East, it did not seek out capital from the UK Government. It generated £13.6bn in profit, up 9% from last year. HSBC pays around £6bn in taxes globally of which £1bn goes to HMRC. They pay their fair share so why are they c***s?

Okay HSBC weren't bailed out but they still had a big hand in the financial mess; the sheer arrogance and greed beggars belief.

It's the biggest scandal of modern history.

jonc is taking advantage of a sort of fallacy of division. HSBC might not have been directly bailed out per se but they benefited indirectly from the bail outs of other institutions (aren't we told that fiance is interconnected?), plus the veiled industry bail out which is QE, funding for lending, and low interest rates.

The system is so clever that only success invites ownership. For massive failure, nobody is ever responsible.

HSBC has been hauled through the US courts and convicted of Drug Money laundering (they were the banker of choice for the descerning Mexican Drug Lords)

these are the guys who chainsaw people in half (by the 1000's) and deposit the remains in bin bags alongside the road (Drugs lords not bankers obvioulsy, they would not know how to start the fvcker)

oh and securities fraud, financial mis-selling on a grand scale too

the then Chairman, Lord Green is now a UK Minister for Business

nothing rewards like failure (but make it a big failure)
