I had the weeping OS rocker gasket replaced today.

A complete kit with the rocker cover, plug, and oil separator gaskets and new rubber rocker washers were fitted along with new Millers Nanotech 10W40, Genuine Black Subaru filter and magnetic drain plug.

Muchly thanks to Three Arches.

OE STi back box is going on over the weekend.

Something I need to do as well Ian at some point as indeed the wing badges, quick steer for the rear window and strut brace decal, interesting to read about the RA decal so I'll be interested in a new one when I'm ready here.

After a few weeks of shows, Europtrip and holidays the RA needs to get some TLC.

So, sorted some consumables out today and used the bits I had as spares from the Eurotrip. Plugs up first, out with the battery and air box and it's a 30 minute job.

PAS/alternator and AC belts where in fair shape but they have had a hard few weeks. Even though I use the AC rarely it was the one in the most need of a change.

I then got bored and took the rear bumper off. Removed the skin from the carrier and gave the exposed body work a good going over with some Bilt Hamber Wax Underseal. Took the vents off and was surprised at how good the interior cavities where.

Fuel filler side.

Jack side.

Surfex HD on the bumper bar before a rub down, rust treatment and a few coats of white Hammerite. Plenty of underseal on the rear valance.

Oil and coolant next then fuel filter.

A bit more cleaning and preventative maintenance. Gave the bumper skin a good clean down.

As many of you know the rear number plate light brackets are made from very cheap and soft mild steel. These are not too bad but the screws holding the lenses in where starting to get soft. So to prevent rounding out they have been sat in ease oil all night.

The brackets had a wire cup session and I drilled out the threads, the screws will be replaced with stainless nuts and bolts. A good dose of Hydrate 80 then paint tomorrow.

Bumper support sanded back, rust proofed and a few coats of White Hammerite.

The same for the brackets, LEDs fitted and back together.

Also got a bargain for £20 from "impartsb46". OE in the original box,

Stu, Not yet but the plan is forming. The earlier V1/2 mirrors are more square.

Whilst the oil was draining yesterday I put the new IC Hose on. I had some help but the lack of opposing thumbs proved a little challenging.

The difference was quite stark once the hose was off.

Coolant, Thermostat, Coolant pump hoses and top rad pipe next

Great work Ian.... Small tinkering is going to make a huge difference to this car.

Are you planning a full machine clean at some point ?

Door dings next week at Dave's then a machine is probably a good idea.

I'll get the Bat Cave this week to finish the coolant and stuff mentioned above.

Changed the coolant this week. So while I was at it a new thermostat was fitted along with the two small coolant bypass hoses. It was suprising how weak the spring clips had become and thankfully the new hoses came with new clips.

It was an easy choice then to change the top and bottom hoses, Gates and OE Subaru being the best options for me.

Back in The Bat Cave this weekend for a bit of front bumper off, strip, clean, paint and replace.
