MY 1997 WRX Type RA
They were on my RA when I bought it and your feet slip on them when they're wet
Ian, a very nice car and everything I thought it would be from what I've seen from the previous thread pics. OE is the way to go with these getting very rare in this condition, cant wait to see it soon.

The RA as been down to Three Arches for a bit of a critical eye. The report is good but a few seepage issues (no age related jokes please) due to the length of time the car was stood before I picked it up.
It will be back in soon for some new shaft and breather seals. If I can get them the re-furbed 4 pots and discs will be going on too.

I may see you before you see me
.
I have just found out the owner before last had an Apexi FC fitted and tweaked for some good results.
It made me realise that I was not expecting the rapid surge when you hit the sweet spot in third, it was quicker than I expected and the Boxster S driver who was tailgating at the on slip of the M4 was very surprised

That's a great find!! I used to love it when I had several cars arrive from Japan to find goodies like that!! Your car looks spot on, clean cars like this are getting a rarity
How did you find out about the apexi Ian did he have a commander fitted as well. My apexi was good on my type r but the maff problem gave me a headache every trip out if you get it mapped again go for maff less

Really nice example!! Hard to find really good classics these days.
I don't really get the OEM look, think orange indicators etc make these cars look very dated but each to there own.

Off topic ever so slightly.
Hope you don't mind Ian.
Apart from the roof flap and dccd what were the other differences between sti Ra and Wrx Ra??
Were the engines the same, cams, pistons etc etc.

My chipset is not populated with that info but as I understand it the torque is slightly higher on the STi RA, the seats are model specific and there are a few cosmetic and extras as normal.

If someone had said to me a few years ago I would be commenting on how good a set of OEM plastic door handles looked I would have shook my head in despair to them
Ian those door handles look great

Looking very nice Ian, like you have said the OEM look is the way forward.
I am glad myself to have jumped on the classic 'wagon', it was about time I grew up.
Nice daffodils by the way.
