Maybe I'll take it for a blast over the Buttertubs..............once I'm 100% sure I can get fuel back into her.

There's a service bulletin for this fault. Contact your dealer and they will order the uprated parts to fix this issue. they should have been made aware of this way back in late august

Yes I understand that, but I think it is a weak point in the car.

Disappointing to hear you haven't really got on with the new STi, but after coming from a Focus RS I can actually understand why as it would have to take something really special to fill the RS's shoes, and to be honest a 300bhp STi with 4wd will never give you the same driving buzz.

I understand, but its a big risk given the history of the 2.5 and that it'll invalidate what little warranty you have.

You can have the same driving buzz, Imprezas were designed with drivers in mind.

I suspect the biggest issue is that the steering on the Focus RS is awesome, makes the car feel very chuckable. It's not so hot on the majority of UK spec Imprezas. They all benefit from work on this and feel much more involving for it.

Yeah, but you've specifically bought that package, and Subaru UK don't do the warranty.

I find it a bit odd that you should have to point this out

To the op, before making any decisions would it not be worth a drive of one with the remap from Mangoletsi. It maybe a cost you don't want to pay but could be a game changer and maybe similar to the costs you may have with getting rid.

It's been said enough times in this thread and others that you can get a remap and 5yr warranty from Mangoletsi. I find it odd that people don't acknowledged this and you are having to remind them.

The word remap was used, but not in conjunction with the name Mangoletsi.

At the risk of being stoned......what would my sti be worth now? Would the only option be trying to sell to a Subaru dealer who might have a buyer....?

Good question. It should be worth what it was new imo, as they are still being sold at the original price, of course you will never get that, due to depreciation and dealers being stingy gits i would be wanting very close to the RRP though! A dealer would probably want at least anywhere from 3-5K in markup i would have thought. Problem is they aren't going to be that desperate for a used one, as they are still getting new stock from Japan afaik.

Debating whether to make a few phone calls to the closest dealers just to see what they say. But as you say, they have to make a profit at the end of the day......

Subarus As rough guide

12 months 20% of purchase price
24 months 35% of purchase price
36 months 50% of purchase price

Lovely car the my15 Was 280bhp but would loosen up with mileage and easy get 340bhp with exhaust and remap.

So i'd probably get offered the same money now, as I would in another 6 months time when it's one year old................

Just checked on Autotrader. Ex-demo cars are going for (cheapest) £26995............

You lose the VAT when you drive away from the showroom so -20% seems sensible.

Anyone changed from a STI Hatch to a 2015 saloon?
Just after some opinions?
Is it worth it for a better interior? Is the better handling noticeable or do you really have to be pushing it?

Back in an RS by the end of the month.

Happy days - expensive lesson learned though.

I can't see how, when you already knew what an RS was like and you must have test driven the new STi, so knew what to expect before you bought it? You must have more money than sense You've basically spunked away 5K or more, nuts.

Yeah but how much do you really learn about the car on a test drive?

Yes but you know what these RS boys are like. It's limited edition and therefore carries the premium for being so.

I could have built an identical/similar spec car to my CS400 Cosworth for a fair whack less than I paid for mine.
