One week to go gents Car in for an early MOT in the morning and a few busy evenings ahead next week checking the car over, refitting the OE door mirrors and recharging the aircon. It's going to be an epic trip for sure.

Tick tock! Tick tock! Warm up the hatch Daz It's a Subaru Matt, the spending never stops even when you think it has. It's surprising how long projects take Matt, fitting a few hours in around work and the weeks go by so fast. At least you have Daz as a back up.

Nothing like a tight deadline to get a project finished, come next Saturday morning all your hard work will have been worth it.

After roughly 2700 odd miles of driving the SWS Euro trip has finished
First off myself & Alisa would like to thank Ian & Matt for making this such a brilliant trip and one we'll remember for the rest our lives for sure.
Over the past week I really can't put into words how stunning the scenery around that part of the world is nor will the photos ever do it justice. Personally I can count myself lucky to have seen things over the past week that many will not in a life time.
Highlights of the trip were many weather it be from experiencing my first lap around the Nurburgring and realising after a few kms I needed bigger brakes, seeing everything from BMW M cars, Ferrari's, Porsche GTs to a London Taxi going around the Ring to the Stelvio Pass, Lake Como, the French Alps and small villages built around the very edges of cliff faces with hundreds of feet drop below and the stop off at the old Reims F1 circuit with it's eerie buzz it surly was an epic trip.
Below are just a few pics of well over 200 that myself and Alisa took, admittedly not the best as most were taken on our I phones.

Great pics Jay, as you've said a trip of a lifetime and one I'm really sorry to have missed out on.

I'm assuming that both cars were without fault on the trip, not even a puncture?

Ty, the RA was faultless, started first turn everyday, the standard suspension was a joy even on the rough road surfaces. No extra oil consumed and fuel consumption between 25 and 30 mpg! The Walbro was working hard above Stelvio and Col de Var.

The IC spray was used very few times. Modane/Frejus Tunnel is one hell of a tunnel run at 8 miles long, but in truth I was pretty fed up of all the tunnels. So I'll be giving the car a full service, fluids, filters, plugs and aux belt change are on the cards after Combe and Newport. I bought them but they never saw the light of day.

I also discovered Matt is not wanting a pillow fight at 4 in the morning but me to stop snoring.

You never know Ty, we may get a chance to do something along similar lines in the future, never say never again. I'm certainly planning a trip next year and fingers crossed more SWS members can attend that one???

Yes both cars run faultlessly and didn't miss a beat all trip long, not even a puncture apart from my slack spanner skills which came to light on the run up to Nurburg with me forgetting to tighten up the bolt in the gear linkage under the rubber gaiter inside the car after all the work did before hand. Both car cars suffered with altitude sickness at the top of the Stelvio Pass but at 2760 meters it was to be expected as the air is pretty thin to say the least.

Great news that you all had trouble free motoring with not even a puncture between you, I'm seriously interested in a repeat trip if one goes ahead next year.

You certainly did mate and gutted you couldn't make it but needs must a??
I think we only seen a handful in total, one Classic on French plates at the Ring along with a blob eye, I caught a WRX classic wagon parked up around Lake Como and an STI hatch at a dealership in Italy. The cars did get a lot of attention, 2 coppers in Monaco were quite funny as the one drew the others attention to us as we went by and continued watching us go down the road, probably a nice change seeing 2 white scoobys in convoy instead of seeing the usual Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, Roller and Porsche that are two a penny there.

Alisa's taken a couple of vids at various points along the way which may just give you a better idea of what we seen so I'll see if I can get one of those up and few more pics over the next few days.
