The fact remains that the financial industry (that much of SN NSR hold in such high regard) had a lot of faith in the UK for 10 years under Brown's chancellorship... and if they didn't see it coming how was Brown or anyone else supposed to?
My eldest still quotes me when others say, "How was Brown etc supposed to have seen it coming?"
It's a coalition, meaning you have to compromise. As Pete says, the shine has gone, but in hard practical reality, they have put a brake on the natural excesses of the Tories.
Look at Clegg just for an example: PROMISED students no rises in student fees, PROMISED to support Forgemasters. Went back on both.

Really? Well thanks for sharing that with us and I expect a few minutes is all your attention span can manage.
Funny how you get on my case rather than that of your mate Ding, but then are you one of those who, like him, still think calling someone gay is a good laugh and a great way to insult someone as you see being gay as a weakness?
If so that basically makes you a homophobe! Nice!
If not then may I suggest you edit your post and quote your mate's posts instead of mine. If you don't then we probably know where you stand!

Ironic me saying that I know ..
You need to chill out by the way .. seriously

I must say I find the Rennard/Clegg business a welcome light hearted and entertaining break from all the serious stuff that is really going on like banks screwing customers, Syria etc etc.
I have always rated Clegg as well above his station and I always thought that most organisations have a few dirty old men that try to make it with junior staff - the one we had happened to be head of HR
My guess is that Clegg will win the day but get the heave-ho in the next few months. Simon Hughes to take over?
Clegg's refusal to support boundary changes which would have given the Tories a lot more safe seats was a big nail in the Tory coffin. The election, who knows? Not Miliband surely.

It rather seems that Clegg basically asked what he needed to give up to be deputy PM (and have a few cronies in the cabinet) and Cameron told him he needed to give up every key policy he had and Clegg said "OK then, deal"

Clegg is a wind-up now, in my book. Every time he chops and changes his mind over some blatantly obvious stuff, he gives such a blank look to the camera that it makes me wanna push him!
He's an idiot, basically.

No, I'm not. And it's you and David who miss the point.
Their MP's WERE elected, or how else can they be in coalition? If they aren't MP's, they couldn't BE in coalition.
And HOW did they get elected....as MP's? On promises they KNEW they would never have to keep.
Dishonest, dishonourable, despicable.
But now, thanks to coalition...found out!

Ignoring your little spats, the story itself is moving on. Now there is a second sexual impropriety allegation, the Lib dem MP for Portsmouth Mike Hancock. Following on from Huhne, the party really does seem them have some wrong un's!

Either compromise and form a coalition or don't, they chose to compromise (as did the Tories)
If the Lib Dems won a majority (heavens forbid) then tuition fees probably wouldn't of gone up...if they did win and then put up fees then you'd be absolutely right to call them liars.

You are being abolutist again (which is very unhelpful in this kind of discussion). They didn't sell 'all' their policies down the river, 2 biggies that spring to mind that they did get were £10k tax threshold and 'Pupil Premium', I'm sure there are more.

Anyway it's irrelevant as within the next 2 years UKIP will be the third party in UK politics and the Lib Dems will hopefully be gone and forgiotten!

Do you really believe that UKIP will win more seats than the Lib Dems at the next GE??
