They Can arrest him on suspicion but depending on what is said they won't charge him unless concrete evidence is there.
They won't do forensics tbh it costs too much for that type of crime unless it's millions and a factory is making them etc, forensics are only used for high level crimes such as murder/rape etc.

To be fair there is no guarantee they are actually his cars or he is from Hampshire....He would have to be thick as sh*t to post his location and pics of cars he owns and knowing pull a stunt involving fake bank notes...

Yes, but it would be a lot of red herrings etc. for a measly £360 (in the bigger scheme of things, I'm not saying £360 isn't a lot of money, just a lot of trouble for that amount).

And perhaps he didn't think the op would get caught out.
I often have a couple of hundred quid at the end of a piece of work and I spend it in dribs and drabs. It saves me having to draw money from the ATM.

It's surprising how many places still don't check notes.

Not meaning to trivialise this but he's possibly 'Evonutter34' on MLR now.

I beg to differ.

A while back I took the kids to Southport beach, come back to find some scumbag had broke into my car, stole some CD's rummaged through the baby bag and whatnot, however, they must have cut themselves on something and left a little bit of tissue on the drivers seat with blood on it.

Popped down to the nearest rozzers gave them the rag and left.

A month or so later received a letter from them saying they ran a DNA test, found the ****** and ordered him to pay me through the courts.

Not necessarily - they could take DNA from a suspect to try to match.
Obviously there would be lots of DNA samples I suppose if the notes have gone through a few hands but there wouldn't be that many if he actually made them.

In any case there's 18 of them, so if his DNA is on all of them I'd say he's clearly the person who handed them over.

Ok everyone I've just returned from work to see this and NO I didn't give any fake notes and yes I would be very stupid to do so giving all my details !

I'm an innocent new member to the forums and am now being treated as guilty outright !

I went to the local cashpoint clearly on Cctv and even had a receipt for the withdrawal which the op knows about so please don't go blaming me for something I've not done, I've got nothing to hide at all and welcome the police coming to see me, hardly the actions of a hardened criminal !

Sorry guys but no show I'm afraid lol, would have been decent if the op contacted me first before throwing this crap online.

I've got nothing to hide at all but will definitely be paying online in future to avoid all this crap.

Get the cashpoint reported to the police asap as that must be a scam in itself, they will also more than likely still find some fakes within the cash point.

Yes please do I know it was a morrisons store with the cashpoint on the front left of the building, I'm not from that area but the op can add the info to the police as like you say there could be some still there

This could get interesting.....So either the buyer is trying to scam seller, the seller is trying to scam the buyer.....or the banks are trying to ****'em both.....

I'm not taking any sides or making an accusation, but who's to say you didn't have £360 fake in your pocket and went to the bank to draw out another £360 knowing you'd be on CCTV and get a receipt to cover your tracks?

Don't like getting involved in these and I'm not taking sides either at all but don't most cash points only allow you to withdraw 300 max in one day aswell?

Because IF you did do that then you'd have some vague excuse and then it would just be a case of his word against yours?

No, I can withdraw £500 with mine and if you ask the bank you can pretty much withdraw what you want. The builder who built my house went to the cash point and withdrew £1500 to pay for some concrete.
