I have a 2003 WRX which my wife uses as a daily. She's a total petrolhead but not after lots of power or handling. She just loves Scooby's. It currently has Eibachs, Afterburner Raptor exhaust, decat and a panel filter. I was going to get it remapped for her just so the car can benefit from the mods and to fix the EML light coming on because of the decat. I imagine it will make 260bhp with a remap. Before I do, is it wise to upgrade to the Waldo fuel pump as suggested above or not really worth doing with the mods and power the car will make after the remap? Like I say, not chasing power but more a case of looking after the car and wondering if the fuel pump should be changed as a precaution.

Secondly, as we are all talking about brakes, my 2003 WRX has red Brembo calipers. Is this standard or has the previous owner upgraded to them?
With your car being 10 years old, you should perhaps replace the fuel pump as a precaution - if it goes whilst driving, the damage could cost much more than the cost of a new fuel pump...

That's a great point. Many thanks.

Yes and yes, for the sake of £80 and to give you a little head room it's better to upgrade the pump.
