M135i again
Also don't like AWD in a performance car unless it's something REALLY quick like a 911 Turbo, McLaren, etc. Spoils the fun IMO.
Very happy with the little BM; it will be a keeper unless it blows up or we crash it!!
M235i gets a bit of a bashing in a big test in TG this month. Not sure why but it seems to be less well received than the hatch. Is it because it's in a more expensive class of car?! M4 also gets a bit slated too. 9/10 for the M135i, 8/10 for the M235i.
Both had a whisker over 300bhp; the N55 in mine has a few little tweaks (forged pistons, etc) to get 320.
The N54 is far easier to tune if you're into that sort of thing; 400bhp isn't too hard to extract.
A clean pic - for no particular reason. Not far off 10k miles now! Cleaned the Cali too - takes bloody ages!

I think Mercedes are making the best looking saloons and hatches at the moment.
I can see why opinion is divided on the looks of the 1 series ( I happen to like it though
)
But one thing you can be sure of is that in ten years time the car will still look fresh and up to date, BMW are masters of that
I remember when the E39 5 series was replaced with the E60 everyone laughed, but I saw a well looked after silver 53 plate 530i E60 on the road the other day and it still looked stunning and much more up to date than an eleven year old car ought to

I agree with that; when the E60 came out, I hated it. Now I like it!
Same with the E90 (3 series). Even the older 1 series is growing on me at last.
Only the old X3, the Z3 and X1 make me want to vomit. Horrible cars.

I was just thinking Cornwall must be great right now, good weather, warm sea and no crowds
Love St Mawes, we got married at St Just in Roseland church (the most picturesque in the UK) and had our wedding reception at St mawes castle ( we travelled there by bout)
My father in law had a house in St Just - spent many summers there
And I bought my Caterham from an old friend down there too

That road to St Mawes is one of my favourites; dry and uncrowded last night so got to push mind very hard indeed.
What a nice place to get married; our mates tied the knot there too!
We got married at the little church on Porthilly beach which was nice; but small!

mattee, that never ending bend going into st mawes on the low road, then the hairpin on the top (castle) road - and back to the A390 past Ruan High Lanes
And then there is the race to get the King Harry ferry too
All good fun (although wrote my Mini Cooper off in Ruddlemoore, Xmas eve in 1986 on the way to spend Xmas with my girlfriend (now wife) and her parents
And had a big party/BBQ on Portilly beach a few weeks ago, great spot
