Tbh he took it back to apple store yesterday, staff had him wait in the shop for 30 mins and then did a factory reset, phone is still exactly the same lol.
It would seem the phone is buggered and it would also seem the service from the apple store in Gateshead is pants.

Have to say I really don't like the terminology myself. Seems so very smug, but this is Apple at the end of the day, and so it does kind of fit their their image.

I'm sorry if this pisses anyone off but my 5s has worked flawlessly. It gets bashed constantly every day for business and personal use.
I'm over all this bull****... I'm more interested in productivity and getting on with job. This phone supports that perfectly for me at the moment. I don't even think about it as the new iPhone... It just works doing the job I expected and wanted it to perform.

4s perfect. So good in fact that I easily walked out of the Apple store without a 5s today, they only had 64mb in Gold and I just couldn't. My friend bought one for his wife, she loves it.

As I said they only had 64gb in Gold, it's a bit girly and I need 64gb. It was better than my 4s in every way, but my 4s is hardly useless, you can still buy it new.
As for not affording it, I may have to make a choice between a phone and a tablet, not sure I can afford both this year. Apple shares have done well, but maybe not well enough.

Well, wor kid took his 4s back today for the final time lol, bloke done a diagnostic this time and told him the battery was at fault, he went away to see what deal they could offer and came back with an offer of replacement handset for £100, my bro told him he wasn't willing to pay for a new phone as his only went faulty after updating to ios7 so bloke went to see his manager and came back with a free handset.
Kudos to Apple I suppose although its obvious they know the update has caused problems as they didn't even argue and the que for people waiting to see someone was out the door!
A free handset is a free handset at the end if the day though

It's affecting his buisness at the minute so he went to the apple store and they told him they were too busy to check the software and if it was the hardware it would be £140 to fix! Absolute joke IMO when he's only 13 months or so into a contract, phone has been in a case since day one and is unmarked, why should he pay to have a phone fixed due to it not being able to last the length of the contract???

It is certainly fabulous
I know, let's have test of phones but ignore the phone that was released at virtually the same time as the iPhone 5s.
Good comparison with older phones
I said before, the Note 3 is the best mobile device on the planet at this moment

Best Android device I'll accept, I'd quite like one. But best mobile device, hardly.

I have this debate everyday at work - my note 2 is great the only thing the phone needs is the slide across cover like the galaxy s1 had for the mini usb port
I recently used my note 2 as a sole sat nav to go to germany and it was faultless it didnt once send me into a lake

Not sure if this thread is only relavant to the iPhone 5 but after updating to ios7 my phones been slower (iPhone 4) and my brothers 4s is absolutely crap lol, his battery keeps running down quite quick BUT that's ok as when it gets to around 30% it switches itself off anyway and won't restart, it's also randomly crashing and freezing when he answers calls.

And I'm not bothered which phone I use as I don't do too much with them, I would say the iPhone is better than all my previous phones even though it's not very reliable and can't even keep up with the predictive text lol, there's sometime two lines of text typed out before anything appears on the screen!
