Its a 12 month contract so that's not a bad price, I always used to do 12 month contracts until last year as I needed to tether a tablet and you could only do that on a 24 month contract. As it happened it saved me a lot of cash so I decided if I wanted a new phone I would just buy a sim free one after 12 months.
I'm waiting for the Nexus 5 as I will be buying that and that should do me till June and the end of my 24 month contract

great phone- agreed.
4g? meh. I'm in the 5% that isn't covered, so not overly bothered!

EE will have 98% of the population coverage by the end of 2014. Population coverage is completely different to area, so there will be large swathes that won't receive indoor 4g until much much later or ever.
Considering that all of the mobile providers cannot even get decent 3g coverage especially in the countryside don't rush to get 4g unless you live in a major population/city or want to spend silly money per month.
See EE coverage, its only small areas of major population. https://explore.ee.co.uk/coverage-checker
I'll stay on 3g and WiFi hotspots till prices drop below a tenner for unlimited data.

The ***** have fully blocked 3rd party cables that don't have the authentication chips. Not impressed I'm going to have to shell out a shedload of cash on licensed cables now.

tried this
1. Turn on USB power
2. Plug in lightning cable to iPhone
3. Dismiss any warnings
4. Unlock your iPhone.
5. Dismiss any remaining warnings.
6. Now with the screen turned on.
7. Unplug the knock off lightning cable.
8. Plug it back in.
9. Dismiss warning again
10. It should now charge.

Three do unlimited data for £12.90 with 200 minutes and 5000 texts and a free upgrade to 4G when they roll it out. This is the plan I've just moved to and also (*shame*) bought a pristine iPhone 5 32GB off a colleague for £299, the cost of his upgrade to the 5s. My thinking is that I should be able to sell it in a years time for around £350-£400 and then buy a new Galaxy S4 when they've come down in price

For the 16GB maybe, but the 32GB are still a little more, but also because iPhans on old devices will pay anything for better iDevice. Having said that I think I'm more inclined to go for the HTC One instead of the S4 having had a play with one.
