Yeah just what I'm thinking mate I just want a nice car at the end of it I don't mind spending the money.
What turbo is best for around 350bhp?

With what you're spending on the build and what you'd get breaking the dodgy WRX you could afford a nice STi ? No brainer really fella ?

Don't forget it will need mapping, turbo injectors bla bla bla. You'll have spent 6-7k by the time you're done. Stop now before you make a really bad decision IMHO

£7k will buy you a nice MY05 STi with no blown up history and a lot more equity left in it.

I've bought a good few scoobs now and never bought a lemon

Take someone with you that knows what they're looking at. A rebuild isn't a guarantee to a healthy scoob going forward. But you really are p1ssing money away for very little value on your current path

I am now completely in 2 minds as of what to do! Im now thinking of just cutting my losses and selling for spares and buying something else.
It just seems like 5k is so much money to make the car not even any quicker then standard!

the thing is I did rev the car up hard when looking at it and it seemed spot on, then a week later it goes? I didn't even drive the car hard.

Exactly if you only want a wrx you could buy another with change with what the rebuild is going to cost ! then break the old one and recoup your costs

I live in Essex too , I can show you what a proper scoob feels like for your purchase + rebuild budget

I broke my STi wagon recently and added what I had planned to spend fixing it and bought this instead

You could buy yourself a near on standard type r for less than 5k and that would be about 300bhp out the box and full of toys . . decat and a few other bits would see you up around 350 for less than your engine build . . something to think about

Alternatively; You're welcome to check out and chat about my 96 sti RA that's just had a £3k + rebuild.
I've no vested interests other than hate seeing people getting bad advice about Subaru's.
I'm on the other side of Essex near Basildon.

You will need to pull your pants back up.....pop to the shops for Vaseline and then drop your pants again
For the amount of £'s you are going to throw at the car......is it worth it
