I think you'll find (as was mentioned in an interview last night), that the new cases are are a smokescreen, designed to attract the Eastern Asian markets - that won't work.
Several Eastern Asians were interviewed and they're considerably more tech-savvy than being attracted by shiny colours. That said, the first thing most people do with a phone, is stick it in a plastic case. Some as tasteless as Apple offerings.

It's obvious what Apple are trying to do - get into an already populated market. But I just don't think the 5C the right model. The 5S isn't either.
Eastern Asia's already got a VERY competitive smart-phone market, based on price as well as functions. Most will want the high-end phone.
Apple could well struggle.

Let's not also forget that the "5" owners aren't exactly going to be ecstatic - especially those on a 2 yr contract. 12 months in, their phone has been superseded and deleted. By a perceivably visually inferior model.

Personally, I'm contacting some phone providers today just to see what the price is.
I do not want a 5C. I just don't like it. The 5s in graphite (not the stupid colour they've called it!) is appealing. A 16-gig will do me fine. But price is a factor. If it's excessive, I'll have to think long and hard. I'm out of contract on a Blackberry, and I don't want a Galaxy (I just don't get on with Android). I have yet to be convinced about Windows.

It may even be time to find an older 5, and get a GiffGaff sim.

Will see what they say later.

Default luke warm

Having read several websites, the initial thoughts could be summed up as "is that it". The 5c pricing is ludicrous for a budget phone, apple have no concept of a bargain model.

Indeed. I cried myself to sleep last night

Still happy with my 5. Mine is as new anyway – not because of build quality but because I had mine swapped out a couple of weeks back due to the Power / Sleep button only worked on the left hand side. My first use of the Genius Bar and I was impressed. Appt booked online, turned up 5 mins early – 5 mins later I had a replacement phone with no quibbles. Yes you can argue such faults shouldn’t happen on a 1yr old phone but this is tech we are talking about and it’s a great peace of mind to know you such good aftermarket support even though I ordered my original handset online via Three.

Lost the plot, LOL. You need to watch the Keynote, have a look at the future of Android phones. I find it more LOL worthy when Samsung release a new phone with bigger numbers and some terrible software tricks, and you and your ilk wet yourselves.

Asia have over 750 Million mobiles, compared to USA at 250 Million, there like rabbits out there

As for the phone I wouldn't mind a gold 5s but it just doesn't offer me much more than my 4s.....

What I want is the A7 Ipad that will do me..

Over £700 for a 5S 64 - madness.

Underwhelmed by what they've done massively. Still I wonder if they've fixed the shocking Wifi and Phone Signal my 5 suffers with on the new models.

£700, excellent, that's what I paid for my 4S, amazing how they can keep the price the same.

So basically an iPhone 5c is £30 cheaper than the same as the old "5" but without the "c" and aluminium casing. Bargain! iPhans will be falling over themselves to their hands on one.

Seriously, Apple should have made the screen a bit bigger, say 4.3" or 4.5", reducing the screen border would have mean the overall size would still be manageable for small hands. I see many commuters watching movies and playing games on their phones, whats the point of a having a powerful processor to create great in-game graphics or watch 1080p HD movies when you have to play it/watch it on what is now considered a tiny screen. There is a huge demand for big screen mobile devices. They should have released something that consumers could see a real and immediate benefit, not flashy coloured devices.

£349 for the 4s seems a decent deal to me. It's still a good looking well made phone.

people will still buy it, it all comes down to what it does for you.

Ive had both Lumia 920s and Android and quite honestly as a phone there ok, but start looking at APPs and the Lumia doesnt have many, and if it does there a fiver.

Android has a better app store, but sorry it doesn't cut it in my world.

Im not buying one that been said, but for everything i do

GPS
Mountain Bike Apps
Running Apps
Cooking APPs
Kids stuff
Geo Caching
Weather

Iphone rules ( trolls attack )

The others try but fall short. they have apps but not what im looking for, Apple know this

Still best looking phone out there i think, some may disagree.

expensive though

well, stock market not impressed with latest offerings. Market is of the opinion that apple want profit over market share, has lost its capablity in way of new ideas and products, CEO Cook said there was some exciting new products this time round!

Market down 5.60%. to mid $460. Well I haven't seen a share drop so much on the release of a new product since Sir Clive released the C5

Yeah but that will be total bo11ox as 64bit does not double the speed, although it could well make the phone feel a lot faster.

Yeah but CPU, that's the double, double, X2 and 64bit. And don't forget how much has been dumped onto the M chip.

read through the specs today.....bit poor but will still do well

Another article summed it up, apple wait until a feature is more mature then add their spin to it. Not exactly innovative, people now seem to be realising that
