When I was at an impressional age, I was told about the bad effects of getting hooked on drugs and the health dangers that went with it.

That had a strong effect on me and I have never ever been tempted to experiment with that sort of thing. I was not prepared to let something unnatural get cpntrol of my mind.

When I was first in the RAF we were shown films of the nasty bits that can happen to you if you manage to catch any of the unpleasant diseases from being tempted to spread yourself about carelessly. They did not hold back-the filming was pretty horrific.

If nothing else-all that education was a very good warning about not being careful about the dangers of some of the temptations which you were bound to be faced with.

I wonder if that could be the answer to encouraging many young people to be careful and to do their best to avoid the risks which are always present in life. I realise of course that some will take no notice and often deliberately push their luck just for the hell of it, but it might just save a good many from some disastrous experiences followed by permanent bad effects.
