How did everyone's go?
Mine were late starters so still waiting for them to turn red. I have brought one inside.

I'm also going to try overwintering to get an early start next year.

Had a few Indian bullets and Thai fingers. The ghost naga plants went mental while I was away in the US (thanks to the mrs for watering!) but no fruit as they are this year's seedlings.

I've had 8 chilli plants in the green house this year, mixed bag tbh they are grew to the same height about 3ft tall and some had quite a few big nice chillis on the others had loads of fruit on but they stayed small, interestingly some of the green chillis turned red while on the kitchen bench? Not sure if this is normal lol.

I'm interested in this over wintering lark.... Our plants are starting to get brown section half way up the stems which looks like they are dying? If I cut them down is it likely they would come back next year?

Cheers

Mick

I had just over 80 plants this year grown from seed, a few of the hotter varieties that are supposedly hard to take, however everyone became a seedling and then a plant. Just recently thrown over half away to make more space in the greenhouse for the stronger ones! Loads of fruit, just cant remember what chilli's they were!

This is my first year of overwintering. I cut three plants down to just a 6 inch stem, then brought them inside. The idea is to get an early start next year.

Cheers Paul, I'm going to do the same with 2 or 3 of ours and see what happens, if it works and they come back next spring I would think you would get more produce from each plant and sooner.

Seen an interesting thing on telly the other week about freezing chillis when you have too many, simply bung in the freezer then run them under warm water to defrost in seconds and use as if just picked.
