From your article

"Apple acquired Fingerworks and its multi-touch technology in 2005. Mainstream exposure to multi-touch technology occurred in 2007 when the iPhone gained popularity, with Apple stating they 'invented multi touch' as part of the iPhone announcement,[16] however both the function and the term predate the announcement or patent requests, except for such area of application as capacitive mobile screens, which did not exist before Fingerworks/Apple's technology (Fingerworks filed patents in 2001-2005,[17] subsequent multi-touch refinements were patented by Apple[18])."

Thanks for backing me up on the capacitive mobile screen.

You will find other Nintendo DS were there first. You are not getting it, virtually all aspects of the iPhone were in use and existence before apple started using it

however both the function and the term predate the announcement or patent requests, except for such area of application as capacitive mobile screens,

So apple's only claim is that they mass marketed an existing technology.

Anyone could have done it. Apple did it and changed your world.

They didn't change the world, they changed 1 aspect of a smartphone, probably an aspect that rarely gets used by many.

So what have we established apple haven't invented the touch screen, just put it in a mobile phone at the same time as other mobile phone companies

Now Jack pick another piece from the iPhone which was invented and changed the world. Don't forget now, apple must have invented it and be life changing.

How did you get to that from this, you appear to be on the back foot.

"Take a look at the features introduced by the iPhone, hundreds of them hardware and software. Now take a look at any smartphone, that's right, to use your bumchum's own words "inspired" by Apple."

I named one and you helped me prove it. You still don't give Apple credit.

Take a look at the feature list of the first iPhone. More than hundreds there for you to choose from.

Touch screen was already being used prior so hardly inventive or revolutionary.

Name another?

Come on, do your credibility a favour. That's like saying the first company to use tyres is worthless because cart wheels were out already.

I am not defending apples reputation. I am happy in my position that you can't name anything significant out of the hundreds of wondrous inventions apple came up with for the first iPhone. I know why you won't name anything, in the fear of being ripped to shreds in ridicule. As I say I am happy, waiting for you to prove me wrong.

It was you what said there are hundreds of notable hardware/ software innovations. I can't think of any, but I am happy for you to prove me wrong

Try reading the thread, I'll save you some time, this is how it went.

What's 1+1?
2
Yeah but what's 1+2?
3
Yeah but what's 1+3?
...

No toys left the pram, no ball went home.

I reckon I see it now

Presumably these innovations are so numerous and ethereal your common user just wouldn't even be aware of their existence

That's right, you were already using all of the features of the iPhone when it was announced, Apple did nothing new.
