Did I say it did?? NO! I was just saying a lot of people would go to see such an event.

Personally it's not something I would want to see.

I can, just choose not to with someone with an obviously low intellect.

And,

Don't bother replying as you're being ignored

I expect that we will see most of their dictats published in the same spirit in the future.

I doubt that there will be much sign of normal common sense to be seen again.

If you did you'd have realised this article is nothing to get excited about. I quote:

"They have not said that anyone must be released, what they have said is that it must be reviewed."

So it clearly says the EU isn't saying you have to release lifers. Simply that each case has to be reviewed.

You've completely missed the point. I never claimed that the ECHR wanted to release prisoners. My point is they are saying that it is inhumane and cruel to lock someone up for life with no chance of parole, to which I say that is madness. Someone does a heinous crime eg Yorkshire ripper then lock them up permanently

A lot of arrogance here.

These ECHR judges each have a lifetime of experience of dealing with humanity. There may be the odd old duffer but most of them will be infinitely wiser and more experienced than most on here. You may not agree, as is obvious, but just bear that in mind before posting some knee-jerk reaction.

They say it is inhumane to have no mechanism to review the sentence EVER. I think that's a fair judgement.
That's a million miles from letting someone out.

The scandal of this story is the 40k in costs one of the lawyers got.
