And yes, lock bolts are a great (and cost effective) addition.

I've fitted them to all my Scooby's (and the FSTi). Improves rotational balance and makes the front & rear of the car feel connected
Have you thought more about getting that S202 bonesetter?

Lock bolts are somehting I shall look at in the new year. Any mods I make to either car will be subtle and either follow an OEM theme or be in the spirit of the car.

And anything done will be reversible with a spanner or screwdriver!

Cheers matey, I'm very sorry but they're not for sale! Really lovely rims on both of these cars, people can criticise special editions all they like but they do come with wonderful extras that are sometimes very hard to find.

They do occasionally come up on the FS forums

Oh yes, most days

However, when dark December is around the corner thoughts of hooning anything new is hard to follow up

Fortunately lock bolts are the easiest to fit (and remove)

Cheers matey. Both the Bug and Hatch STI came in for a lot of criticism when they were both launched but are truly outstanding cars, even more so in more powerful and bespoke limited edition form.

Of course, they are very different cars to each other but I genuinely find it very hard to choose between them.

Have got a lot of mods planned for 2015, buying and settling into my first house has been a massive drain on the old car parts fund

Well a belated happy new year to everyone.

The Cosworth walked its sixth service earlier this month, and the odometer has just ticked over 9000 miles. Problem with using the car in this weather is that she gets absolutely filthy and it's looking like she'll need a full detail at the moment.

I'm not normally one for car shows but I popped down to Jap2Jap near Chorley at short notice yesterday, a lot of Imprezas showed up. Here are a few pics...

The worst thing is it would have cost him quite a bit to get those bits painted green, money that could have been spent replacing the washer jets and roof gutter channel!!!

What is it anyway, a wrapped WRX SL?

Loving this thread.

I thought about getting a Cosworth, and for the money I could have instead of the new one. My only excuse was - I'd already bought the plate and it obviously couldn't be used on the Cosworth.

Loving the new one, but still find the RB extremely enjoyable to drive. So different, yet so similar.

Cheers

Awesome pair of cars you have there! I hope you enjoy them both for what they are, and also the difference between them - I love the contrast between mine.

I have been considering a new STI but can't quite justify the expense of adding a new car to my collection yet, let alone another Subaru. It's certainly a very nice car.

I know what you mean, I've had the RB for nearly 7 years now, and is the one car I have ALWAYS wanted - so it is a keeper.

I started a new job in May last year, and recently qualified - which meant my salary doubled. When I got the RB it was from a wanted ad on Pistonheads, and upon questioning the guy (why is he selling/getting rid), he'd just had a similar thing happen and said that "buying a brand new car is something that you should do - just once at least, something that no-one else has had". That kind of stuck with me, so I ordered a new STI.

F***ing love it.

You are correct, you should appreciate each car for what it is, the RB is awesome because it has nothing, the new one is awesome because it has everything. But both drive amazingly.

Mucho smiles.

Totally agree, buying a new car is a colossal waste of money when you look at the numbers, but you can always say the car is 100% yours, especially if you plan to keep it indefinitely.

I went out with a friend this evening whose fiancee is unfortunately undergoing major surgery soon, we decided to tell the other halves that we were going for a milkshake which was kind of true but didn't mention the shisha that would be involved

Came out two hours later to a car covered in snow! I didn't drive like an idiot but I had a little fun going the long way back on some empty roads Now tucked up in the garage away form all that nasty snow

I've also had a couple of photos come my way on Facebook from LADS member Marius, which as usual make a mockery of my half-arsed attempts using an iPhone.

Looking good!!

Really should invest in a good camera, not sure I'd use it that often, or when you wanted iy , you wouldn't have it with you. At least you always have your phone on you.

You can pick up a good dSLR off eBay or Amazon these days for a very good price, especially models from a couple of years ago.

I've got a 5D mkIII but I don't really use it for much more than wildlife photography and really big events, certainly not car park meets in Chorley

Hmm, not sure on the 5D mkIII as a first ever camera, even my first car wasn't more than a grand. Thought I'd try this one first.

Should do the job, and if I don't use it, I haven't lost much.

It's not so much the camera. Better lenses and knowing how to use light room to edit your RAW Pictures Can get better results than a really expensive camera and bot knowing how to use it.

I've only a 500D and get some great results. Having a f2.8 lens helps lol

Cheers matey. I only just noticed the bug comment... not visible on an iPhone screen! Unfortunately not for sale and I would not part with this car unless I had to. It's just so much fun to drive and I think I'd be hard pressed to find a better example.

I have received a few comments about how it's a 13 year old bugeye and on top of that not a dccd-equipped car / as capable as a hawk spec C but I'm

a) not wholly convinced there'd be much between them

and b) think people are missing the point anyway - it's one of the most enjoyable cars I've ever driven.

I'd advise anyone who wants an S202 to go with their heart and get one.

The majority of photography I do is with macro lenses, either at work (denticnut stuff) or leisure (wildlife). I do the majority of my editing with Photoshop CS3.

Most of the time, you're right there matey. The best photo isn't always the one with the best light capture and focus with perfect depth of field, but sometimes the one that captures the moment best of all.

The Hatch is really starting to grow on me, especially the last two pics, love your seats too.

I'd be frightened to own it though and constantly worried about anything from stone chips to just leaving it parked somewhere, the S202 is more my style, two very nice cars.

I was very busy with work in 2015 but had plenty of opportunity to enjoy both cars, despite my fears that they'd be sitting in a garage gathering dust.

With the dreadful weather towards the end of the year I found both cars my preferred choice for tackling the unfavourable conditions.

I cannot recommend the Cosworth hatch highly enough as an all-round powerful and practical daily driver, and still find excuses to take the S202 out after 18 months.

Really nice motors. I see that you have sprayed the silver bits by your fog lights, are they easy to remove?

Love both your cars, the size of your garage is perfect. What I would do it only put one car in and stick a double bed beside it, that way you could just live in the garage lol!

Look forward to more updates
