I've just realised that I hadn't actually mentioned I sourced the clear lens via yourself Rob, much in the way of apologies there

If anyone needs a hand sourcing official parts give Rob or Stan Palmer in Cumbria a shout, you will not get treated like an idiot by this main dealer they're a top bunch.

Yeah the weather sucked but at least our cars didn't float away like they would have done in the South East.

Was just as good enjoying the company, deffo again soon

How they thought this looked good beats me, I think it is absolutely horrendous. The car has been on sale for a long time now and that price has been creeping down accordingly.

This is how a Cosworth should look IMHO...

If I change that front bumper it will be for the MY11 type.

Default LADSoc Meet January 2014

Can't believe it's 2014 already.

Been a bit of a quiet Christmas for the Cosworth as I'm running out of small things to do and seem to be running into huge bills at the moment. I warn you all - avoid getting married, don't have kids and don't buy a house if you'd rather spend all your dorrah on your car

Anyways, I bumped into another Scoobynet member earlier local to me and his stunning Spec C this morning which I even got to sit in. Top bloke too, was great catching up outside of the old Facebook for once

But it still would be and that's why I have a big box in the garage marked "OEM". To be fair my car is already looking different with the red Hellas, rear under diffuser, carbon side vents etc.

Yeah I know but it's not high up on my list of priorities Rob. Once I've moved into the new place and my car is out of warranty you know what I have planned

Default February LADSoc meet and in for Warranty Work

Hmm, a dilemma. I had planned to remap the car when the warranty ran out but it would appear my car has a three year warranty and not a two year one. Currently feeling that I should hold out until February of 2015! Might be tempted to spend those funds elsewhere...

So away went the Cosworth after the LADSoc meet at the beginning of January, and there she stayed while we were away in the Canary Islands - a great place to spend the last couple of weeks of the worst month of the year.

I got her out last weekend and took her to the LADSoc meet, thanks to Marius for the pics

Unfortunately when my car was last in for a service in December the front shocks were shown to be in the early stages of a well known problem that affects the Bilsteins fitted. So today she was dropped off at Mangoletsi for that work to be carried out under warranty, excellent service by Adam and Simon.

I parked up next to this nice looking motor...

And I've been given this very pleasant courtesy car until the shocks have been replaced, a Citroen DS4.

Cheers matey. I put it on then took it off because I thought it looked too "GTi" then put it on again.

Am wondering at the moment if the STi grille badge should stay at the moment though. Think I'm going to take it off.

I think the red stripe looks OEM and it should be there!
If it went all the way round the grille then it would be to Golf GTI

Looking very nice there Richard, I'd keep it as is personally - it's discrete and looks OEM without screaming look at me.

As for fitting the later style bumper again I'd leave it as it is now, I wouldn't want to take it too far away from the original styling.

As for your quandary on the remapping I'd leave it on the factory mapping until the warranty runs out and then straight off to get an Ecutek Race Rom remap carried out.

Someone said a while back on here that these Cosworths only came with a two year warranty. So I booked my car in for a service and asked them to have a good close look at her before Christmas, and the shock issue was picked up.

Two years has passed but noone from Subaru has contacted me yet. Probably because it's three years according to them...

Anyway, I have had the front shocks replaced under warranty - took less than two weeks to get them in and fitted, far quicker than many others have experienced.

I could not resist a little upgrade in the meantime, and ordered a set of genuine wind deflectors [E3610FG000].

I fitted them as soon as I got home, an easy install it was too.

Firstly, wind down the windows and heat the inside of the window frame with a hair dryer or heat gun at low temp. I decided to lift it out with a squeegie as I didn't want to tear anything by accident.

Work along until you have exposed the frame underneath.

Line up and mark the positions out, and then heat the adhesive backing. Remove the protective tap and hook the clips under the frame. Place down firmly and hold for a minute or so. Push the frame back in and you're done.

Default LADSoc Meet March 2014

Met up with the LADS today and parked up next to this very smart WR1.

Went for a drive with another member of the club who has a newage saloon running an MD321 billet turbo and pretty much zero lag. The OEM setup of the Cosworth makes for a formidable machine that is easy to live with but it is is laggy and has left me counting down the days of remaining warranty so that it can be mapped out.

They do look different though.

I preferred them over what Rob had on his car after I saw them, as they seemed to stick out more and I liked the neat flush look
