Hi

I may do another run in the very near future but I don't have any currently. In fact I've just had to refund someone due to the bloody post office losing one

Can something similar be done to electric windows so if open when you turn off they close up automatically

The mirrors can be done fairly easily due to the unique way they're wired up & powered. Windows not so much.

bugger, think my plan to fit these may not work

1. Have a set of power folding mirrors all painted and colour coded

2. Have the module from Major sarcasm

3. have the correct switch with folding function

Went to fit them and don't think the wiring is complete or the actual plug is wrong. There seems to be tons of wiring

Maybe MS can help ( i have messaged him) or some helpful soul on here.
Remember this is a UK car facelift

I can post up the picture off the wiring and plug if that helps

What model year? I'll take a look at the wiring diagrams and see if I can find anything.

Tim
Many thanks for your help but I doubt you can help as after speaking to Major Sarcasm it looks to be a non starter.
The main problem is that UK cars do NOT have the wiring in place from the door to the centre console. Therefore even if you a) get the correct mirrors like I did ( the mirror switch has two extra prongs ) b) get the correct rocker plug and c) have the gadget, the fact remains this gadget is suitable ONLY for cars that have the wiring in place.

My only course of action after hours spent researching and fiddling is to run two extra cables from the centre console to the door, find some way of terminating the ends so they can fit into the plugs at either end and also find a suitable switched live.

So with all the technical knowledge the world and 1/2 day free to strip my interior apart, I could possibly do it but what an ****

So I will be either using it for my wife's type R or selling the gadget.

Worth noting that Major Sarcasm went out of his way to actually call me up to offer advice and his gadget is top notch

Buy a cheap wiring harness for a head unit from egay or the likes and remove the pins. Or try Maplins to see if they have the right size pins.

You're easily beaten Chris!! Don't mind helping at somepoint, not off work until June at the earliest though and you'd have to tell Lisa to make the trip down.

I may be easily beaten but unless I can overcome that blessed mirror angle issue first ( a hammer maybe ? ) it would be pointless to do all the wiring until that is sorted.

But its not big rush so maybe in June when we get the royal visit from you two we can tackle it then

Been thinking about making another batch. I have the components, just not had the time yet. Will get round to it eventually, lol.

No, I don't make turbo timers.
