Hi mate, my PM box wasn't full, must be crappy SN

 

Not sure what's going on then (see attachment), don't really want to post my payment details (email) in open forum.

 

How are people getting the permanent live into the door? Can't see me running a wire through the door rubber thing where the OEM wiring is...

Actually, that's exactly what I did with my R32 Skyline (god I miss that car), as the controls are on the door panel.

 

Must really be SN as my allowance is 100




however just send me an email if you can't get through via PM

 

I just copied and pasted the pm recieved and pmed it to SwissTony and it went straight through.

Big thanks to you guys who've paid up straight away - top geezers. Don't know why my messages to RICH_BUG_WRX wouldn't go through but sorted now. Think I've figured out why I couldn't message SwissTony though; I had a space in his name. Tony, did you have another old account on SN? "Swiss Tony" with a space? Anyway, my bad.

Champion - can in splice it into the footwell wires? Don't fancy trying to get a permanent through the black rubber in the door

 

If you can trace the relevant wires back into the car, makes no odds where the unit is mounted. I've potted them so they'd survive a nuclear holocaust.

Can I just clarify one thing for the numpties amongst us.
If the wiring from the electric folding mirrors goes through the door and routes to the centre console near the handbrake ( obviously I am talking about later scoobys -classic) I assume this little box of gadgets fits under the handbrake and this is where all the wiring and connections are made. Then to complete all I ned to do is to run the red wire back to the permanent live somewhere behind the stereo or hazard ?

Have I got that right ?

 

Yes

Although in theory, if you know where the route of the mirror wires is, you could place the unit anywhere along that.

Well since my classic has the wiring in place already (as the mirrors are electric but not folding the wiring is there) it seems logical to keep everything nice and tidy under the centre bin.
