How did we like our first view of Scunthorpe?

At one point it was actually beginning to annoy me watching Skint until I stopped feeling anger towards the loud mouths,benefit scroungers and cant work wont work members of our society. I then progressed to enjoying watching the rest of it as I kept saying out loud "Good enough for you, you cunt".
I recently helped one to get a flat for herself. She had been living on others' charity for ten years.
I had to sponsor her for the flat. She hasn't let me down yet and it's two years now....
jamelia might just turn out ok when she grows up, she seems to know enough to not want to turn out like the blonde skeleton.
i have never been to Scunthorpe but i cant imagine the whole town is as bad as the tv programme portrays.
i however did once go to Skegness and that place needs flattening.

Yes, it's as bad as it's painted. It's literally dying on it's feet. Killed when Thatcher downsized the steelworks and by a stupid Labour council who never made any effort to encourage other industry in until it was too late.
The town centre is FULL of the skanks and lowlifes from that programme, and Eastern Europeans.....all in work, of course, (they must all be on nights )

And he said "I can't afford to pay for it in full like you working class lot, I have to pay £1300 on top just coz I'm paying it off over 2 years"
I have a handy wee thing that I stick to in my life , if I cant afford something I dont buy it. Crazy I know , but somehow it works.

Choice 1.
Crappy job, treated badly, and very boring, minimum wage. £13.5k, no prospects, no future.
Choice 2.
A life on benefits, (with a couple of kids) £10k, lots paid for, no prospects, no future.
A lot of them take option 2. Can you blame them?
(Like i say, not condoning it, just spelling out the facts as they are)

Whats the answer. It will take something drastic like a 50% cut in ALL working age benefits to make choice 2. less appealing. Not going to happen (in the near future).
