Local election voting intentions
I think the Lib Dems are going to get more than a nose bleed! There's a report showing the the Lib Dems got less than half the amount of votes that the BNP received in South Shields, 352 compared to 711.
The last time i voted it was for new labour, and they screwed the country over, left us with huge debts, that everyone is now feeling the pinch of....I didnt vote for the con-dems as it was a pretty much given, that one of those partys was going to overthrow the labour party..
As said already by others, im sick of hearing the same old song from Lib dems, conservative, and labour ( its like listening galaxy radio...same **** different day )....so this time round my vote will go to UKIP for no other reason than lets see what they CAN actually do for us as a country ( if they got in power )...some may see it as a protest vote, i couldnt care less what people think of my vote as its not based on any form of discrimination to anyone or any section section of society, i just think its time for a big change in government, and to have a government that works for its people ( like its suppose to ), and not to line each others pockets, sell us out to europe, or rape my *** with tax after tax after tax

UKIP are holding a short meeting on Saturday evening at the Dog & Duck to decide on their policies towards the NHS, Education, The Justice System, Trident, HS2, Scotland, the 3rd Airport, The Benefits System and the Tax Regime generally. They hope to find someone to print out their Manifesto leaflet next week.
All ideas invited. Please attend the meeting if you can and the first pint is on Nigel. No immigrants and blacks by invitation only.

While it seems they are a one policy party, the fact that people STILL chose to vote for them, and in large numbers, should worry the mainstream parties massively.
So what if they don't have all their policies about the economy sorted, they still appeal to a lot of people despite this! That's how bad the electorate considers the current situation, they are willing to try anything that will shake things up and get their views actually listened to. And that hopefully will wake this current lot up.
The current reply from the mainstream about UKIP's success is: "We think this is a protest vote, we need to try harder to make our voice heard about what we've achieved so far, we've failed at being heard properly." In other words, business as usual! It's not going to wash!

dlHaven't had my invitation yet, though it might be there when I get home!
I think its the sneering of people of anyone holding a different view to the traditional parties that plays into the popularity of UKIP (eg Ken Clarke's comments).
The gravy train's hitting the buffers and there's brown stuff everywhere!

dlDo the public really have the first idea of what UKIP stand for (apart from their opposition to our membership of the EU)?
first two i think they would get alot of support for, the hidden agenda they have behind the scenes is much less well known and would def loose them support, media is doing a good job of hyping them up as usual
) immigration is bad.And how is that whenever there's a debate about immigration, people who are anti-immigration always say "Why can't we have a proper debate about it?".
What is it you want to say about immigration that you haven't been able to say?
This whole racism thing is really quite puzzling. What UKIP are advocating is the same system as Australia and NZ. Hardly radical and therefore people must be saying that those countries are racist too. Its basically a lazy slur
btw I don't think for 1 second that UKIP are a racist party
really?, you think most people would support a repeal of the smoking ban
bring smoking back in pubs and other public buildings - really
even most smokers support the ban
I have been known to have a "cheeky" *** now and again but only the most die hard smoker would support that
Nigel Farage has also talked about the relaxation of the drink drive limit

No one knows, what they do know is some of the members have history of it, and people like that tend not to change there views because most folks dont agree with them.

UKIP is an anti-EU, anti-immigration party. When asked, most people who vote for UKIP aren't overly fussed about the EU but they are anti-immigration. Because, (didn't you know?!
) immigration is bad.
And how is that whenever there's a debate about immigration, people who are anti-immigration always say "Why can't we have a proper debate about it?".

Then we have cultural and integration issues. When we get a crime wave from these immigrants, don't you think people might say "hang on they're abusing our hospitality, its time for you to go". That's extremist is it? Sneering at someone holding those opinions says more about you than them. If you want to put a case for uncontrolled immigration, lets hear it!
ah found it,
ENERGY AND CLIMATE CHANGE: UKIP is sceptical about the existence of man-made climate change and would scrap all subsidies for renewable energy. It would also cancel all wind farm developments. Instead, it backs the expansion of shale gas extraction, or fracking, and a mass programme of nuclear power stations.
shale gas fracking, when half of the buildings in the country have collapse cos of earth quakes be plenty of room to build lol
