Yes

Well you know my opinion of your thinking skills on this one... In fact as your previous and next comments goes to show...

No, that's about dealing with the unsustainable levels of debt we have. Nothing to do with capitalism, all to do with crap politicians. If you're unable to see the difference, you have proved my point. Maggie was a supporter of sound money btw...
Opinions are like arseholes.......You can take a scalpel and dissect my statements to your heart's content it makes no difference to me. Given your background I'm not surprised at your zealous defence of capitalism.

Not sure what "my background" has to do with the strength of an argument, I always try to post supporting evidence for my POV. Wasn't aware I had posted anything of "my background" on here of any relevance anyway.

Its a simple matter of observation, what happens when you let people get on with things with minimal interference, compared to what happens when a huge state tries to run everything. Both experiments have been tried, will you believe the evidence of your own eyes?

Warren I know you're an advocate of the laissez-faire school of thought. An advocate of Ayn Rand's philosophy. You believe in it and are passionate in it's ideology. Just because I am pointing at the cracks in capitalism doesn't mean I either have or support an alternative system. Maybe a benevolent dictator is the answer.

The answer to what, though? That is the question.

Ayn Rand wasn't just an advocate of laissez-faire.

I think those advocating the 'use' for a society of capitalism or socialism are actually two sides of the same coin.

I believe in a small state, bare minimum of intervention by Gvmts to ensure a sound and fair legal and justice system, fair operation of markets (ie anti monopoly legislation), low taxation (which doesn't mean none), law and order and peace on the streets, simple consumer protection and reasonable laws for safety matters. Apart from all that yes, people should be free to do what they like, offer whatever services , earn whatever amount of money, and exercise whatever choice they want. Pretty much like Margaret Thatcher advocated really.

As for talking about failures in capitalism, there aren't any (apart from the need to prevent monopolies). Any current financial crises are due to **** Gvmt decisions in the past, spending more than they take in income, forcing banks to lend to people who cant afford a house, and enforcing counter-productive rules. And again I point out all the good capitalism has brought to standards of living all throughout the world. Just ask your parents about their lives when they were young compared to now. The change in a lifetime has been amazing, all through the power of "greed". You are trying to bite the hand that feeds you

Whatever anyone says, she was an outstanding leader making most politicians look like useless pygmies and she stood up for this country above all else. She dragged us out from the despond!
