Just a shame that you cannot upgrade the battery in any iphone without ripping it apart and invalidating the warranty.

More of a shame that you feel the need to upgrade. I have never once felt the need to change an iPhone battery, shame on your phone manufacturer for forcing you to factor in an upgrade.

I'm sure whoever gets my phone next won't mind removing two screws on a three year old phone. Whoever buys yours will be removing the gaffer tape that's holding the battery in, that's before it's a year old.

My iPhone battery was OK until it did an update. Removed all apps, restore/restore, no difference. A subsequent update appears to have fixed it, so obviously a bug in the update. Same happened on iPhones belonging to people I know and work with.

This is the second 4S I'm on as the original was swapped for a new one by a 'Genius' due to signal/cell negotiation issues. My boss's 4S did the same too.

Don't get me wrong its an 'OK' phone. I'm not saying android phones are any better. Same s**t just made by a different company; Too many bugs, too many software updates.

All batteries die eventually unless Jack you are now claiming Apple have magic batteries. It is another reason I got an S3, if I have it that long at least I know I haven't got to rip the thing to pieces to give it a new battery.

Or is it a different bug now?
Not a bug at all, it's a weakness in the A4 (and its predecessors) chip. 4-digit PIN codes can be reverse-engineered, opening the keychain to all passwords. Even complex passcodes won't protect you, as they can be simply bypassed. The iPhone 4S (and newer devices) has an A5 chip, so doesn't suffer from the same problems.

I never claimed that. What I can say is the batteries in my iPhones have been more than sufficient for the time I've owned them. My 4s is cracking on a bit now, but I don't have battery issues, never considered buying a new one. The 5 is much better, and the 5S will be better again. Two screws to change the battery when some spotty youth buys it, much better than a loose battery door, and they all go loose with age, a couple of screws would fix that.

There are more than 2 screws, but I wouldn't disagree in that it's a relatively simple job to put a new battery in. My only concern would be putting a genuine (or at least similar quality) one back in as a replacement, but that's a sourcing issue for me.....

(Don't forget the additional screws holding the battery connector in place)

Yeah and that one but you'll agree , it's hardly a strip down. Takes 5 mins at most to do

Such a shame that needing a spare battery is seen as a feature for android users. They put big numbers in those phones to attract the bobble hats, but those big numbers need a lot of battery, two batteries it seems.

Apple get it right, currently using a Retina MacBook, says 12 hours use left, astonishing.

Where does it void you warranty? There's no warranty tabs inside? I've had the back off mine and never had a problem with warranty claims.

Or are you just spouting Internet rubbish with no actual proof ?

Are you ever going to stop spouting factually incorrect claims? Or do you just come here for trolling in which case you should be banned.

I've already stated I have owned iphones and now an S3 and so can say from experience your claims are simply wrong where the S3 is concerned at least.

I don't deny the macbook range has outstanding battery life but the phones are no better than some other brands.

Its all part of his comedy routine, just treat Jack as entertainment value, i don't think anyone takes him serious anyway apart from himself.

Having the option to change your battery is great especially if you go to something like Rally GB where the forests don't have any sockets, you'd think by now they would have put some sockets in the trees for the iphone crowd.

Correct. I don't have time to faff around with a bloody screwdriver if I want to change the bloody battery if I don't have access to a power socket! Yes I could buy a car charger but why bother when i can swap out the batt in seconds whilst still doing other things. It's a no brainer really.

lol why its tiny, you don't even notice it in a pocket.

Nor do I except if I've been using it for a few days and haven't had access to a power socket in that time. It happens when you are on the road a lot and need the phone between journeys. Or you use your phone heavily. I suspect you do neither then.

Car charger, is that the thing that also hooks up to my car stereo, does calls, SIRI, directions, plays music? Yes, it was way more than your battery I expect. I also have a USB socket, cigarette charger sort of thing, for when I'm in an old car or boat.

If you're going to Rally GB, take your laptop, it's a great charger and you can transfer your photos and video every day.

You're confusing me with Tony Burns or Cockforger.

What I'm doing is winding up Fandroids who can't help but spam Apple threads. Truth is battery life is so subjective, nobody's right. I can kill the battery in hours or make it last days and I can do that with any phone.

What is certain is each update of hardware and software improves battery life. And if you happen to develop both you have an advantage.
