Thanks for the link Matt, much appreciated.

I assume this will fit the 2015+ model also.

Just looked at the closer up pics on the website. That's a lot of money for not a lot of plastic. Looks incredibly flimsy, may make something up myself.

It is quite expensive for what it is, however it's made of metal, not plastic, so is very robust.

Can't really see it fitted as it's behind my zunsport scoop grill.

I've left the underbonnet scoop ducting off for now and put some more heat shielding, but more as a precaution against water coming in contact with alternator, will do a pic later.

did you look at this link? http://www.kstech.biz/2008-2014-wrx-...-scoop-delete/ if so not sure where you are getting the plastic from? 5052 aluminum construction with stainless clinch-nuts.

Scanned it and didn't read the text if I'm honest.Looked like plastic in the pictures. Glad it's aluminium.

Still won't be buying one at that price though.

A friend some time ago suggested that the faded STI emblems were letting the car down.
So I've had the new emblems patiently sitting in their packaging.

Rear STI emblem was looking sorry for itself.

Very happy with the replacement, although fiddly to fit as it comes in 4 pieces.

Front emblem was faded as well, but i had a mesh grill i wanted to install for airflow reasons. Love the more agressive look.

Bit of a fail with the grill though, used plasti-dip and glossifier. The finish was ok, but was slightly tacky and now all bit of dust etc have stuck to it, so will have to come off again and get painted properly.

Gradually getting a more aggressive look to the front of the car, removed the scoop grill today.

Now need to sort something for the lower grill, either swap to black or take the bumper off, open up the area a bit and put some black mesh across.

Spec C Smaller battery fitted.

Used Fuji Racing tie down bar and cut a small

hole in the battery tray to access the other hole for the front tie down rod.

Got some time off this week, so more jobs to do.

Get a trickle charger and or spare battery!!! They don't stand short journeys or being left standing

Yea, I do have concerns, but it does spend all it's time at home on the ctek and very rarely more than a weekend away from the charger.

How many days can yours stand for before not starting?

It seems to be a bit hit and miss, normally good for up to a couple of weeks. Normally let's you down when you need it most. The killer is journeys under 20 mins.
Love my ctek; it renovated a battery that had sat in the yard dead for 6 months

Been under the car today (on ramps not really high enough) rust treated the rear subframe as much as i could with Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80, also refitted the scoop delete with some weather strip to prevent any water ingress.

It's too hot for this though, so giving up for today.

Obviously need to bed in before commenting on performance, but they do look the business.

I really like the look of that kit. Seems great value and a proper bolt on Subaru setup. Very nice.

Looking forward to using this to relocate the ACT sensor so it's not so subject to heat soak.
This hose will replace the joiner just in front of the throttle body, being silicone it should not conduct heat towards the sensor as it does mounted in the boost pipe.

ACT sensor rehomed in silicone joiner and GFB BOV installed.

Idea being reduce heatsoak on the sensor, and reduce turbo flutter, not sure if it will work, test drive was fun though.

Development of the car continues.

Recently upgraded the Mishimoto cooling fans to 12" Spal items, much more puff and hopefully they will contribute to fixing annoying issue where temps go up when aircon is running and ambient temps are 25c plus.
Also fitted KillerB upper resovoir. The orignial upper resovoir had developed a small leak, this one is a neater design and it no longer pinches the turbo inlet.
Ongoing is swapping out the in bay Bosch 044 which had become quite noisy for a DW350iL, hope to get that finished in the next day or so, just waiting for a check valve to arrive.

Covid permitting the car will be off to Engine Tuner in November for some more upgrades.

So, yesterday the curse of 2020 struck.
Engine let go.

Strong suspicion the failure is related to some “tinkering” I have been doing recently.

Won’t know for sure until Engine Tuner tear it down.

Will report back and advise on plans, not sure what direction to take yet.

Bad news, gutted for you. So it lasted from 2013 with some serious abuse along the way?

Yea, it’s 7 years, no engine issues until now.

I wouldn’t say it was abused cos it was well looked after, but obviously got driven hard when opportunity arose.

I suspect it might be my fault anyway, but need to wait and see.

Thanks Hedge, obviously gutted

How were the Fuji brakes in the limited period you ran them, and did they have standard pads?

Thanks Raggy.

It will be back, will continue to document it on here.

Plans will be influenced by what the nature of the problem is.
Will be going to Engine Tuner in the coming week.

Agree with the badder and better in principal, all depending on nature of the failure and costs involved.

I've no complaints, particularly bearing in mind the price.

Pads, I'm not sure, but i have heard they might not be standard size.
