I'm not sure how quoting you and using your own ignorance of the English langauge counts as a slanging match...

Sambob nothing you have posted is factual, its all opinion based so it has zero merit. It only confirms that you are either being willfully obtuse or you are a genuinly a dumb ****.

I have already provided many valid reasons for disagreeing with the re-definition of marriage. I can also provide valid reasons for disagreeing with homosexuality in itself (please note, disagreeing with homosexuality is not necessarily homophobic nor does it by default make you a "gay basher")

A few other people have made very valid points about why they disagree with homosexuality, and for the purpose of a working society I have already posted much information (which some people have branded as spam) as to why re-defining marriage to include homosexuals would have a negative effect on society and future generations.

However, some people seem to have totally ignored these valid points, and not only that, but have condemned anyone who has made them, and disregarded them totally. It is insinuated that we who disagree with homosexuality are intolerant, yet when we would like to discus the topic, providing evidence and our views, it's simply disregarded and we are branded as homophobes, bigots & spammers. It is quite clear, and I'm sure others would agree, that this is intolerance and intemperance and perhaps some are more bigoted themselves than they even realise.

Not really, there are few peaceful demonstrations that's all.

Unlike some places I could mention the French can manage to demonstrate without hospitalising members of their police force and setting fire to their streets

Hello,

This is not relevant to the topic at hand, but I will entertain your question without shame.

So to answer your question of; do I believe that the bible is the word of God.

That depends on which Bible you are talking about.

I believe that the original Aramaic, Greek & Hebrew texts contain all of the below and much more. What we call the Bible today is actually 66-81 books (depending on canon) recorded by 40+ different authors, in 3 different original languages, compiled to what is....

The inspired word of the one true living God.
A history book.
A book of the future.
A science book.
A book of poetry & music.
A book of rules and instructions.
A book of inspiration.
A book of wisdom.
A lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path.
A love letter from God to us.
The revelation to us of the one true living God.
Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.
For the word of God is alive, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

There is also so much more. I would highly recommend it!

I would just like to point out to the class that I will not respond to people trying to rope me into a slagging match by insulting me & calling me a "dumb ****"

Perhaps a second poll is required on whether homosexuality is acceptable or not.

Still struggling with some elements of English then...strictly speaking I wasn't insulting you I was asking a question, admittedly it wasn't posed in the most respectful manner.

Who is the class you are referring too?

A little bit more consideration would be required.

Is Homosexuality acceptable, yes or no?
Too ambiguous, as what does acceptable mean? And what are the implied consequences?

Try this instead:

How do you feel about homosexuals?

a) I approve of their behaviour
b) I dislike their behaviour
c) None of the above

In this wording I have tried to separate the individual from the behaviour, and in addition allow for abstentions by voting c).

If we accept that celibate relationships are exceptionally rare in both heterosexual and homosexual relationships then behaviour in this instance would cover both the sexual angle and the public behaviour.
If you want to differentiate between the sex and the public behaviour then the question will need expanding.

As far as the 'accept' question being unambiguous goes, to my mind the option to accept or not is impossible as homosexuality exists and in that respect nothing can be done about it. It can't be banned or legislated against as that is unreasonable. Society could however accept it exists but disapprove and therefore not promote it in any way.

the above can be equally said about your question

and the subtext of your alternative question and the use of "behaviour" seems like an attempt at playing the "Graham Norton" card

Your logic is tragically flawed as you seem to be under the misapprehension that they all behave the same way. They're human beings not sheep. Or do you really believe that they all behave a 'certain way'?

We can play around with words all we like, but it is unlikely to change the fact that the majority of people are uncomfortable with homosexuality.

Challenge that all you like, but whether you like it or not it is without doubt true and you all know it.
Only the degree of discomfort differs.

If that is true, and it's a big if, all would means is the majority of people are narrow minded, only the degree of narrow mindedness differs
