I always considered marriage to be a religious ceremony and to be between an man and a woman.
The Church and government are separate and i do not think the government should have any say over changing the rules.
No problem with gay couples having the same rights as married couples.
It is up to the Church of England to sort this one out itself!

No at all, as i said (if you bothered to read properly
) was that marriage is a religious service and between a man and a woman.
I take it your wife is really a woman?
no obvious adam's apple and she doesn't pee standing up, and, the real clincher - a lack of willie?

I look forward to coming home from work just to see what's been posted on this, most of it outstanding some a bit mad and F1 you really are getting quite upset about this. I have no particular view on gays, know many both male and female and I can tell you one thing, they wouldn't be getting half as eaten up about the whole thing as you seem to be, alright you are leaping to their defence but 100 plus posts - flipping eck. Andy

Yes I do feel strongly about the way certain sections of society are persecuted without any real justification and I will argue the point with those who are happy to call people out for no valid reason until they provide one or disappear.
However I am not upset, the stupid don't upset me
Thanks for your concern, but how much I choose to post is really my business not yours. I don't tell you how often to post do I now?

Isn't that what you requested ?
2) It's tehnically spam
3) If you read his last post he says this at the start:
Now just before I do this.... A little note to f1_fan, who would appear to be the self appointed Patron Saint of Homosexuals, and a few others (you know who you are) start to jump all over this as they have just about every other poster opposing their slightly ominous stance... Anything you post in reply to this will be disregarded and won't be replied to (at least by myself) as it is clear that you are only on this thread to gratify your ego & not to actually objectively discuss the topic at hand. So don't even bother responding. If you do I will take that as more evidence that you are indeed bent on gratifying yourselves by antagonizing, insulting and belittling anyone and everyone who disagrees with homosexuality or the current topic at hand, which is the redefinition of marriage.
No one has yet given a logical answer as to why they are anti-gay.
Unless someone can do that this thread is done really!
OK then given all the reasoable arguments you have seen on here you will have no porblem answering this.
Why should anyone be anti gay when it doesn't harm anyone and doesn't affect them in any way?
I'm all ears!
Yes but the debate moved away from that when words like freaks, gayers, bumders, uphill gardners started being bandied about as well as people mentioning there being something 'wrong with them' etc. etc. Then we got on to the time honoured born gay vs turned gay debate and so on!

I don't have a problem accepting that some individuals are homosexuals, that much is in isolation of no great consequence to me. But however much you argue that it is, the reality is that it is not normal. Were these relationships purely cerebral then I might begin to understand, but generally they are not and that is where most (at least 3 to 2 in this vote, but many of the 2's will be effectively abstentions) people don't approve or are even disgusted by it.
To accept something is not necessarily to approve of it. I can accept it (although admittedly prefer it didn't happen) but I most certainly do not wish it to be promoted in any way. This does not however mean I want to persecute homosexuals. My preference (if we accept they exist and will continue to do so) is that they just keep their heads down, and behave themselves (as plenty do, F1).
The camp, exhibitionist nonsense we get from some gays is totally unnecessary, and why would anyone think this wouldn't rub a lot of people up the wrong way, and at the same time have the unfortunate effect of alienating many people from homosexuals in general.
F1, you actually made a good post earlier, the one about your friend who nearly lost his career because of prejudice at work. In that situation, in principle being gay would have no impact (in any major way) on the way I would treat your friend. If, apart from the fact that you know someone to be gay, they behave no differently to others who are not then so what? Whether he is a good worker or not would matter more to me.
But if he is camp, exhibitionist, or overtly suggestive then the rules change.
My objection to gay marriage is firstly that it promotes what I see as undesirable behaviour and at the same time undermines the traditional family unit. And it is in any event totally unnecessary as all the legal rights are available in a civil partnership, which I support.
F1- this thread is about gay marriage, not about gays.
gays can get all the same rights from a civil partnership, so why should marriage be redefined?
what will gays gain from getting married over a civil partnership?
my nephew is gay and he said he wouldn't want to get married, but he'd be happy in a civil partnership. so if some gays don't want the laws changing, why are there so many straight people fighting for it?

And one of the chaps who's posted on this thread ( he knows who he is
is gonna pop round Or meet up chat scoobys and no doubt maybe meet the mrs if she's kicking about
And then it will all become very clear who the desperate one is
The guy who takes the Internet & forums with a pinch of salt
Or the guy that thinks he's on a one man crusade to help the gay community from behind his keyboard
Can't wait to show how you have been well and truly sucked in and used solely for my entertainment lol
Until such time as they all become invisible and mute, it is unlikely that they will not affect anyone in any way.

They are offended by it? Oh dear anyone would think it was being made compulsory

Well as posted earlier Stephen Fry has a good speech about those whio get offended. Here it is again

Why do you wish it didn't happen btw? It's not going to happen to you so why wish it didn't go on between others... why do you want to dictate to them what they can and can't do?

Oh dear , well you'll see , because unlike you I tend not to just sit behind a keyboard trying to win little battles and taking posts as gospel
