The thing is, it is not just the obvious, i.e nazism and the persecution of the Jews/Gypsy’s/Mentally and physically disabled.
It runs through history, from the slave trade and Stalinism to Pol Pot’s killing fields all the way to the scandalous treatment of “not normal” children in Ireland by the Catholic church.
It reminds me of the wonderful Martin Niemöller Poem
"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me."

Is it acceptable for one man to bum another : answer , no
It's not how man evolved , and guess what if man had just bummed man we wouldn't have evolved
There would just be two blokes still bumming
a) because they were just wired that way and couldn't help it, or
b) because they loved the taste of prison food so much?
It seems to be a fact that certain traits of the homosexual male are actively selected for. Perhaps their creativity, gregariousness, intelligence and humour are valuable in the gene pool, despite the general tendency for gay men not to reproduce heterosexually.
It's time that everybody realised that human sexuality is not a black-and-white issue, but points along a continuum; and that incredibly beneficial genetic traits exist in people of both genders, and every sexual orientation.
I think that Toneh might be a bummer. But not the intelligent, creative kind of bummer.

I'm sad to say, I am genuinely not shocked by how hateful some people can be.
I can sort of understand that some people feel uncomfortable about homosexuality or even disagree, but what really troubles me is the venomous attitudes shown in this thread. It is one thing for it to 'not be for you' etc. but another to outright show hate towards people that are doing no harm, other than living their lives with someone of the same sex.
I'm not pro or anti gay, I just get on with my life and have a live and let live outlook. If people hook up with the same sex, it does me no harm at all, so why would I be bothered about it? Those so hatefully against would perhaps ask themselves the same thing. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but real, actual hate.......?
As for public displays of affection, I'm not a fan, but that isn't something restricted just to homosexuals. I love my other half, but I don't feel the need when out in public to be all over him. There is a time and place, and gay or straight, publicly getting it on isn't really appropriate. Maybe that seems prudish, but I just think it is being respectful towards other people.

Do you look down on the disabled because they are not 'normal'?
As I've said before, I'm not a fan of normal, but I'm trying to establish what you think it is and where you draw the line between who is to be hated or not because they don't conform to your ideal.
That's just it, they wouldn't. I have askld them the same thing over and over and not one will answer the or even acknowledge the questiom. They just come back with more hateful ill informed prejudice. Frankly I think they are beneath contempt!

As I've said, I'm all for people having their own views, and can understand the 'that's not normal' view even if I don't agree, what I fail to grasp is how that goes way beyond into hate towards people.
But they should be willing to answer in public, they are happy to spout their opinion on it in public so they should be prepared to back it up with their reasonng which has to extend to a bit more than 'I don't like it cos it's not normal'. If not they should STFU!
