Ah, OK, sorry.

I only know mainland Europe and Barbados, that's all I've ever been to.
And all I'm ever likely to, now.

No worries mate, it's just that were on a shoestring budget but it would be nice to go abroad this year rather than stay in this country like we have done for the last 4 years

How about Marbella area, we are off there in Oct, weather always good then as well. Loads for kids to do with beaches, Selwo wildlife park , water parks, zoo's etc.

San Pedro De alcantara and Estepona area have some really amazing apartments, villas that will be quite cheap in Oct. Whats your budget for accommodation?

Price is probably going to be no more than £500 per head (there's 3 of us) and really looking for fully inclusive too

Sorry, you're in a wrong forum with your nano budget, mate. Most Scoobynetters spend about 15k every year on their family holidays.

I'm sure you can get something nice for £1500. Reality check needed for some; that's not a shoestring budget.

Check package deals; something good will be out there for £1500.

Utterly irrelevant but just booked a month in Spain and France for some VW California fun. Plymouth to Santander return (all of June). Just need to sort an itinerary out! Can't wait!!

Been to Sardinia early Oct (2005) and was 25 deg every day, not bad, stayed at the northern tip Santa Teresa, hotel right on the beach, very good service and price must have been okay if I went.
One of the things I remember about it there was a massive snake about 5 inch thick on the way to a beach after a drive round.

Malta - We stayed on Comino, little island between Malta and Gozo, recommend it, not the best hotel on the eye but food was really good (half board), flew Ryanair and booked the hotel direct with them over the phone and got a good discount from web prices. many ferries throughout the day to gozo and mainland, free of charge, a good mix of nationalities, mainly german I think and English is almost their first language now (the maltese that is)

Corsica around Porto Vechio is nice as well but being French it might be quieter than Sardinia

15k? That's just what they spend on Christmas presents for their kids.

Holidays are 50K plus for most NSR posters.

Skyscanner is showing up Gatwick to Lanzarote, outbound October 14th, returning October 21st for £75, flying with Norwegian. Not budget breaking by any means.

Been there abouts couple times, ^^^

Stayed maspolomas dirt cheap allocation on arrival , got a small 2 bed chalet type thing with lawn , well worth it - spent most time beach anyway. But you didn't need leave complex

Amadores nice bay , did diving open water there.

Also port megane on boat , but that's another story

I guess you may be able to get glimpse Tenerife from very top at obscure angle

Puerto Rico seemed to be good for teenagers and those pretending to be young , noisy nighttime

We're you not impressed with peurto mogan either? Was bigged up by our rep, but I thought it was quite small and had a weird dodgy market.

Gran Canaria seemed to have a very chilled atmosphere compared to the other ones though. And you can do some nice excursions (if you're in to that sort of thing) up in the mountains, we done a wicked 4x4 day.

Spent about 10 days on a yacht there joined by couple others - we were waiting for the owners other bigger yacht to turn up and then sail across to Barbados
Turned up a week late and needing repairs, so we ended up setting out 10 days late for race .
Didn't realise race was supposed to start that end island, id spent a week living rough las palmas before penny dropped

Place itself was ok, plainly pastiche

You're right to be wary of Egypt - was the only holiday I've had in recent years that I wouldn't go back. Wondered why a 5* beach hotel with guaranteed sunshine was so cheap - quickly found out ... being hassled every 5 minutes (to the point of being threatened and also locked in a shop) is not my idea of a nice relaxing holiday ... and being 'firm but fair' doesn't work either!!

I sympathise.

They're generally very slimey as well as very angry in Egypt, if you don't keep buying from them. There was a man who we bought some perfumes from, but he kept pestering us to get into his shop again. We couldn't just avoid him for we had to walk past his shop to get to anywhere out of the hotel. Every time we walked past, he'd attempt putting us on a guilt trip by saying- "You don't come back to my shop? You are so cruel and nasty! Look, what you have done! You've now broken my plastic heart! You'll pay for it one day! " My son still laughs remembering his 'plastic heart' verbal to us.

Dahab is bit less in your face, we wondered over to the old town by foot which confused them , there was no right in your face sales pitch to be fair
