I wouldn't have minded an evo, but don't they have to be serviced every soo many months?

PMSL...new wave of Impreza owners; you really don't have a clue do you

The series McRea actually had a factory sticker pack option back in '96 and people have slapped 'rally' sticker sets on Subaru’s for years which has always divided opinion.

To answer honestly- I absolutely got into Subaru's because of McRae.

I was a big F1 and Senna fan until 1994 and I began to pay more attention to WRC, it tied into the age when I was beginning to cound down years until I could drive a real car after being told by my parents from a young age they couldn't afford to buy me a go-kart and Impreza's where the cars I wanted to drive.

Old man bought a series McRae in '97 and that was me......

Still a fan of Colin McRae the driver as I always have been, although Colin McRae the man has some serious questions to answer and I don't condone what he did in anyway-

I can still seperate the figure from my youth that piloted these cars and the man that got in that chopper.

Version 2 555 sti also came with the option of a full sticker set.

As you say each to their own . It would be a boring world if they were all blue with gold wheels

I can't say it was McRae on his own, I wanted one because they sound and look awesome! But it was down to McRae that the car got the attention it deserved!

I grew up loving the fearless 555 legend and always wanted an impreza, and bought one as soon as I could insure it!

I don't think this is the case anymore
I don't think there is a better looking car or better sounding one at that than the series McRae!

Just wondered other people's thoughts
YES!!! Although not a new Subaru I agree.

But I've always loved rallying and McRae was a hero as was the Legacy and Impreza. I first drove an Impreza at 17 (back in 1997) and have wanted one ever since.

As things went I just haven't been in the position to buy or justify one, up until the end of Oct last year when I finally managed to get my hands on this rally inspired legend.

To be honest that's what got me into subarus watching rallysport,I use to watch the original group b series of races and when that got fazed out and was reinvented with wrc I started to watch Colin mcrea in his legacy then his impreza and the way that car moved And sounded I said to myself one of these days I will end up with one of those cars, and now I have two.

Lol so he did have an affect on some peoples decisions about their future cars then!
And I agree I don't condone what he did but that was completely separate part if his life... The part I didn't really care about.
Just lived to see him on the track and still watch some of his races on YouTube

Yes, McRae is a big reason for buying an Impreza (for me), although lets not forget that two other great rally drivers, Ari Vatenen and Marku Alen, both drove for Subaru before, or at the same time as Colin, so they have a part to play as well.

Yep same here. Oil and filter every 4 months regardless of miles covered.
£180 a year, can't grumble at that.

i can see where this is going,
the same people that tell us this is not necessary are the ones that tell you mapping after changing parts isnt either.

I have always loved Subarus. I got a 93 WRX as soon as it was possible for me to and now saving up for an 03-05 Blob STI.

Nobody had an influence on me liking Subarus specifically, it's just a personal preference!
