Last week I fitted my dads genuine hks ssqv 3, now I hated the sound but the car felt so much more crisp in terms of response, so I've ordered a recirc kit.

Once that's fitted I'm moving on to sound deadening and quieting down the interior, for a 2006 car it rattles like bloody mad,

Also want a zunsport/rb320 front lower grille

I'm considering the same mini project. Need to do some research but I reckon seats, centre console and carpet out cant be too hard then get some sound deadening foam stuff down. It makes so much difference, I'm currently driving without a rear bench and the sound difference is massive!

Managed to fit the hks as a recirc valve. Throttle seems a lot more responsive now on boost.

Also ordered a black zunsport grille

ive tried soaking them too bud,

ill see what our wurth rep says though

i have made a start on the sound deadening too,

inside the boot lid ive used deadening pads,

then the actual rear wheel wells i have added pads along the wells and the quarter panels, followed by foam sound barrier, then moved onto the rear door, only got one done

to do the door ive taken out the speaker as its pants, blocked the hole with deadenig pads and deadend the inside of the door, too, followed by adding a full sheet of the foam barrier,

will try and get pics tomorrow.

What have you bought for the deadening Jake? It seems like the options are endless.

Also, do you have the prodrive widetrack settings still? Getting alignment sorted next week so would be good to have a good starting point!

I do bud. Pm me you phone number and ill txt them across

I use trade stuff dynamats too expensive.

The idea is to add mass to stop vibration. The foam helps dampen the noisy too.

I was looking at something like: http://www.carinsulation.co.uk/produ...ate_insulation

No idea how much I'd need for the full floorpan, rear seat and boot/wheel arches AND the doors.

PM en route

This is how I recirculated the hks.

I basically flipped the oe pipe over the ic

That way I can go back to stock should I need/want too

I'm using a thick carpet underlay. It's compressed foams and £7 per metre.

I used Silent Coat in the rear of my STi. Seems to work well and gives a solid sound when you tap the panels now. Much cheaper than Dynamat. Easy to use too.

Well, ŵhat a nightmare of a day.

Set off at 1:30 to go to Dudley approx 1:30hr away.

But there had been a lorry jackknifed on the other side as we went down the m6. Got there at 4pm picked the seats up and set off.

Then we hit traffic. Sat for ages at junction 20. Finally got home about 8pm. What a crap trim

Well worth it though. Wr1 seats in mint condition.

Seats are in. No need to change the rails either.

No pics of them fitted but these are the seats

Also picked up this bad boy

Afterburner raptor.

Next is to get some wrx door cards like mine. Strip and retrim them in black alacatara

Jake

And after

Tested on the same bit of rd, 30mph in third

Looking good mate. But not a fan of flame burnt tips. They belong on saxo's for me.

Not had chance to polish it yet. Had plans today so was a case of fit to get me home in time.

Quick pass of the rotary will see that off lol.
