Great programme, had a lump in my throat a few times. I was lucky enough to see colin in action at Silverstone when they had a super special stage there must have been around '96 or so, first ignited my impreza flame! Got me thinking a 555 would be a nice addition.
If in doubt, flat out!

The car used was a genuine Prodrive car, but it's real registration is N555 BAT and belongs to Ryan Champion. It's pretty original from what I've been told.

L555BAT is indeed in the museum in Glasgow but as it is arguably the most famous rally car ever it is now far too valuable to be used in anger on gravel so the BBC had to look elsewhere for a car.
They wanted to use genuine Prodrive Group A Subaru and there isn't many works car left in use. I am lucky enough to have N555BAT which is still being used on events and hence they used in the making of the Colin McRae Racing Legends programme and it was a pleasure to be involved. The car was originally driven in the '96 WRC by Didier Auriol and Piero Liatti.
The "horrid thing" on the roof Jimbob is a Prodrive WRC roof vent as used on the 98-2000 cars and has the benefit that it doesn't leak... I have the twin vents sat on the shelf for the day N555 is restored but for now it's still a rally car not a show car!

Can you get any more of the twin vent sets?

The only ones I've seen are original Prodrive vents and not seen any for sale for a while. I managed to get a pair of new ones a couple of years back (even painted blue) as I knew I'd want them sooner or later!
And for what it's worth I much prefer the twin vents but it hasn't needed a roof skin yet... ;-)

Nice! Is it on Revolutions? I have some for the Gp A car, can't imagine where they got the style of those from...
Have some original magnesium Speedlines too but don't like to run them now as they same brittle and are becoming rare!

Without sounding aggresive towards colin( and i liked the flair and disregard for the subaru team in a selfish way that he had) you have to look at what he did in the ford when he gifted richard the title by pushing too hard,he rolled it and gave the championship away,i would have sacked him to be honest, although he had to be quicker than burns he wasnt behind on points and trying to catch up,almost just had to finish to win. But hindsight is easy. I still love the way he drove, heart on sleeve, never dull.loeb is a totally diferent driver, more precise,thoughtfull,etc.. But id rather see colin any day.rip.
