Don't let anyone sit in your car after an accident...
I think people would help out anyway and human nature means that even those reading this and saying "I'll be damned if they sit in my car" would help out.
Otherwise the logical end point to this is simply when you see an accident drive straight on because otherwise any help you give can come back to bite you personally.
While the medical profession weren't not directly responsible I think it should be something they step up to and help resolve. A collective responsibility of society - otherwise I have to wonder why my taxes are going to help fat smokers not get off their ***** and go get fit instead of causing a burden on the health service - after all I'm not to blame right?

its sounds nice, a collective responsibility - but ultimately that means someone pays and if its emergency services, then that just equates to a shortfall somewhere along the line for them, be it training, equipment, staffing or whatever. the net result is a poorer service for the public - and that public could be a friend or family member at some point, and you know theyd be getting a lesser service due to having to have money aside to pay in cases like this.
i do feel for the woman whos car it was - it would be nice to see a charitable act by someone with the wealth to do so, to resolve this one incident and then start work on some kind of consultation work by the emergency services to address the issue.
not going to happen lol, but it would be nice - say a richard branson type person bought the lady anew volvo lol
i see people saying you should still help but she is now carless for doing exactly that, am while i dont know the details of the case im guessing the answers she recieved were "were really sorry but"
that doesnt replace the car
that doesnt replace the car
I doubt it very much. Insurance companies are akin to second hand car salesmen. If they can weasel there way out of it they will. It's probably all dependent on who allowed the people to sit in her car. As you can read in the article the car owner is saying that she DIDN'T give them permission.
