From watching the WRC with my dad when i was a 8 year old boy, at the time the sonic blue, gold wheels and decals drew my attention and kept on saying how when i was older i would have one. 20 years later my view on gold wheels and decals may have changed but the appeal is still there

My Dad got himself a Subaru 1800gl back in 1992 and thats when it started. He had it for 8 years and only retired it after it became too rotten to get through an MOT. In that time my mum had 3 or 4 pre Legacy 2L estates and I remember being about 7 years old and going to Rivvett Autos and seeing my First Impreza and from that moment I knew I had to have one. Spent many years then watching WRC and dreaming, then when I turned 20 and after owning 3 Justys, a mate of mine told me of someone who he knew was selling one so I went and bought it. Still have it now but I was young, stupid and didn't know much about the mods you could safely use on my car and it blew up so it currently sits with a big gap in the engine bay. Luckily I've had another and I now have my Forester.

Loved watching the RAC rally on the tele back in the late eighties, through to the mid nineties. Of course that meant watching McRae in his Group A Impreza in the latter years. I was only 18 when he won in '95 though, so they were well out of my league at the time.
Then in '99 I tried to keep up with a red one in my Rover Coupe Turbo, which was no slouch. It disappeared in a flash and I knew I needed one of those!
Finally bought one in '03 and I've had it ever since, albeit as a second car since '04.

My friend had a 1994 wrx and I just remember the burble as it pulled up or drove off it must have been 12 years ago now, I remember the first time I drove it hit 80 in a blink of an eye and I was hooked from that day I needed a flatty in my life. I've been toying with evos and subarus for quiet some time now and I always come back to the Impreza.

I'm feckin 50 years old and if I know I'm going out in the car the next day I don't sleep properly and usually up very early. For me now it's like Christmas Day every time I take it out.
I grow old but I will NOT grow up!
