Was tootling down the road in my Corolla GTi-16 in mid 1995 when an ugly green wagon thing stuck its scoop adorned nose out of a side road in front of me. He took one look at me and started to go and I thought 'What the f**k is this goon doing?' All of a sudden he was gone and I was impressed with the traction and speed. All I could make out was the Subaru letters on the back.... bought a car mag.... looked it up.... the rest is history!

I always wanted one as I'd got pictures of various racing cars on my wall at home... loved Richard Burns and Colin McRae. Had not been paying much interest to cars as I'd spent a lot of time abroad before I went to uni and visited a girlfriend in the Channel Islands. Her dad was manager of a Subaru garage there. One day he came home in a 22B and I asked if I could sit in it. He have me the keys and told me not to stack it. What an introduction lol

Despite a very long degree at university I managed to get one before I qualified using my student loan and a part time job... quite how I managed to scrimp to afford it I'll never know.

I had just sold my SLK and child no 4 was on the way and I needed a sensible 4 seat saloon.....then I drove past a forecourt with an 03 Blob STI sat there for £9995. Er. Well, I wonder why there are so many of these cars on Manx roads? So I found out for myself and am now on my second....I'll try not to crash this one.

Fun with a good level of practicality - I cant think of many other cars that have the same mix the Impreza does, especially at the price they can be had for now. Also as someone else said it's a bucket list car, is a great feeling owning an icon.

I had a classic as a project and it made me laugh , a quick bean can on wheels
Swapped that then purchased a bug for a project ( newer bean can )
Fun cars and millions of cheap parts for modding made me get another

I wanted another 4x4 turbo car and was looking at Sti's or Evo's and found my Sti first. All the Evo's in my price range looked like they were owned by drug dealers and abused.

After this summer i want a Evo 9 though to give the dark side a try

Dartford toll, as a young kid I thought my monster 1.6 seat Leon was a fair match out of the toll booths with a blob STI, it didn’t work out well and I ended up in a Subaru dealer age 22 buying a WRX Hawkeye!

Mcrae also played a big part in the dream

I've had an evo for the past 5 years and always wanted a Hawkeye STI since they first came out, I recently sold the Evo 8 and saw that for the same money I can get a newer, lower mileage STI so I took the plunge - I pick it up on Sunday

Because when I turned 21 and was learning to drive, I found I could get insured on one reasonably as soon as I passed my test.

Way back in 1998 I started to read about them in the motoring magazines
And I specced one up at 26k 1999 I got divorced so my plans went on hold
2000 when I finally paid off the evil ex and bought myself a new house I had a few
Grand left and there was a brand new phone in green sitting in Stan palmers
Showroom I walked in and wrote out a cheque there and then
13 years on it still sits in the garage with my wrxd

Childhood obsession developed by my elder brother and his obsession with mcrae. It was on the cards I was going to get one. Got one when I was 20, had a few and everytime I say right I'm going to get something sensible blah blah blah I find myself back here only months later! That's why this time I'm looking for a keeper!

I like being diffrent, oh and the burble, oh and the looks, and that i can drive it like a normal car, get a wardrobe in it, the shopping, that its a beast in sheeps clothing.

Actually im gonna change that last statement to scares the sh*t out of me when i put my foot down.
