I'm getting a little fed up with decent, law abiding folk being harrangued by those with scant regard for law and morality. It's about time we all stood up as one when one of us is in trouble. I am more than willing to be counted in if fellow Scoobynetters want to make a show of force to help out Daz. The old idiom 'give an inch and they'll take a mile' comes to mind. Keep us posted on how things pan out Daz, I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to help in whatever way I can.

A reputation is just that .... a reputation, nothing more.

This is the very first time he has come up against you .... stand firm.

If he threatens you - he has threatened others before - and the police will know that ... tell them that he threatened you with a firearm and shot at you.

You have 20,000 scooby drivers who witnessed the alledged offence

My girlfriends boss had the same problem, He got hold of the local quarry and had some large boulders delivered by the gate, when they asked the jcb driver (Her boss) what`s going on he told them he`d been ordered to block the gateway they soon moved and haven`t come back

We've had the field ploughed today so that should put an end to it.

Hubby says you need to get rid of these few before the rest of them appear and start nesting.
Do as suggested and dig a massive ditch across the entrance, if you do it before there's too many of them they should naff off with their tails between their legs.

Allow the horses on the land, shoot them, get a good butcher, joint the meat, pack it and send it to France, the frogs love horse meat.

LOL at the keyboard Conans.
Have you ever actually dealt with travelers? they have little to loose and are a lot willing to go a lot further than you ever will. You may "teach them a lesson" in the short term, but unless you murder them all, you will loose out. Its all too easy for them to burn your house down and then bugger off without a trace.

Prevention is better than a cure, keep the land inaccessible to them.

I have dealt with them loads and blocking them in with rubble or blocking them out with rubble is the the best way.

This, I understand but it seems there a few on here that have no idea how difficult these people are to deal with.

For now though I think the issue has been dealt with

ploughing the feild sounds a good move, some large boulders would help id think,

maybe pay a farmer to "fertilise" the land - with a tanker of slurry, with maybe some of your own "fertiliser" thrown in.

if they give you a bit of grief, just say your just prepping the field for next years crops - innocently and not trying to provoke anyone, but decision was made ages ago for the field to get used for a crop wether they were there or not.

Never dealt with Pikeys directly, nor would I want to, but a good few years ago around here, a number had set up camp on some old waste land. Not quite sure what went off, but they crossed the wrong people and a mob went down which resulted in them being run out of town, minus their caravans, as they were set on fire and burnt out. According to the local rag, there were no witnesses and nobody was ever charged with anything.

Apparently they have 20 horses to loose.

You are right though, they have little else to actually lose.

Im going back around 10years now mind but we soon got fed up of this so what my dad done at the time who is a nutjob himself, was wait in the back room one night bolock naked with a baseball bat when he saw one of them jump over the back wall he ran out at them like a mental case shouting and screaming LOL they didnt come back again then!! also police were called by a number of people and within a week they were all gone!!

Just had pikies drive past in their metal wagon. Flagged him down in my pj's and he looked at me weird.

He was over the moon when I gave him an electric oven & hob. Hopfully keeping them sweet will keep them away ?

either that or now they know you have a new oven and hob they might break in and nick it !

lets face it , they are scum and unless you are one of them , they have no reason to be nice (even if you give them scrap)

It's a shame you've had to go and plough your land because of some gypsies, but hopefully they won't trouble you again and you'll be able to grass it over.
