I'm hunter gathering once more getting ready for the next phase of work.

These will also be running Group N top mounts, after a year of just making do with my suspension I'm looking forward to getting the handling and the ride height to where it should be. These are virtually new and low mileage, exhactly what I was planning to fit.

Great to meet you Joe and many thanks there I'm very pleased indeed

Thanks Frayz and yes they are perfect for my set up, all I need now is a pair of rear top mounts which I'll get through Alyn.

Here's Joe's car with them on, great looking set up height and handling.

I'll have to do some research later as to what to do and the value of what I'm removing, I've read that struts are serviceable so maybe that's an option for someone as not to waste them after all they are types r struts even if they are faulty at present. Either that or I'll be after a refund since they have not been right since day one

Also the nuts and bolts you sharp eyes characters have spotted going rusty I now have replacements for, these must have been missed from coating with the rest... I think I'll get these yellow passive coated now to match the rest of the car.

Ok for the small group out there that have spotted my rusty nuts !

I have purchased new replacements and had them Yellow Passivate coated to match everything else on the car.

I've got everything in place now Joe, the rear top mounts came today so I have all the parts now. Just need it to warm up a little now and I can freshen up the struts, I think I'll rub them down where needed and rust treat them get a coat of black on from the base of the springs down... They are off the car so just as well make the most of it, it's going to be March before the car goes up and I get it all changed over.

Finally managed a little time on the struts today just cleaned back the surface rust and treated the areas ready for a little etch primer before gloss black.

Also managed to get some chap to put his name on my sun visor

A little more completed and for a rattle can finish I'm very pleased indeed, I've a month before the car is booked in to have the suspension changed so that will give the paint a chance to cure well.

It's only when you get your head under there you realise how bad they corrode, from new I think the strut just has the bare minimum of paint applied just to say its painted.

I totally agree mate, in therms of mileage they had done very little and already had the odd scab on them. Great call painting them Si they look spot on pa, should also be a lot more durable

Just a little update getting a few small jobs complete before the car goes up for these latest jobs to be done.

I picked up a new for my car air con rad and had to freshen it up and initially painted the whole thing silver but it just did not work as the mishaped fins were really exaggerated and it made it look really rough from the front, I did not want to paint the whole thing black it's to much so decided to do something a little different and flashed Matt Black over outer fins over only. I think fitted this will look great.

I'm due to collect the car tomorrow so it's going to be very interesting to see how it handles and sits on Joe's suspension

PCAD at Castle Combe on Saturday so I'll get a good idea and a few good pictures of how the car sits, next job then will be putting the Revs back on and that will give me a true picture of the new ride height.
