Spacer free ? to clear front Brembo's.

I'm after some 17's but finding some that clear Brembo's if proving a challenge

 

Cheers guys I'm very pleased here it's the wheels for the car for sure, very limiting with the calipers as well so that's a little bit of luck too.

Cheers Scott... Your right very limiting indeed with the brakes then when you want a 17" it's even more restrictive. These are straight on no spacers needed and the clearance is good, all in the design to clear them. I'll drop you a few pictures on an email with more detail.

 

Thanks Daz yes I had a good run out in the car it was great to get it all up to temp and put some pressure on it, I'm very pleased with my £40 exhaust initially it was a stop gap but it's not going anywhere now

 

I'd say its perfect compromise load when you need it and I heard it all down the slip road good work

 

I took it nice and easy down there as I was aware top mount temps would be high so I wanted to get the temp down, very pleased it sounded good.

 

Wow. Can't believe it's been used lol.

Ok so wheels I've got them here ready to refurb, I've sussed the colour code out that I was also looking for after dropping on the Fiat forum for advice and a fellow Subaru owner also popped up there as well it's a small world !





And in basic terms this should be the colour as long as it's available in the powder coat range.

I've got the colour swatch from my painter yesterday and was very surprised when I offered it up against something as a comparison and that's all I'm going to say at this moment in time

 

Not sure on the colour, I guess that is because it is on a ****ty car but I am sure it will look good on the wheels.

I have the same set off wheels sitting in my garden just doing nothing must get them refurbished at some point

 

Are those new bolts you've fitted on the strut to hub clamps or did you have old ones re-plated?

 

That's the old ones replated

This is what worries me about getting a new shell for this winter to reshell mine next year, am I really going to have the patience to do it all?!

 

Best advice is to make a plan pencil it out and block similar/same jobs together to reduce time spent and workload and plod along, sometimes you see people start a job and direction is all over the place that's the killer blow for me.

 

Thanks for the advice, I shall do that, hopefully the fact I have a workshop and a ramp etc means It wont be such a struggle and should speed things along.

I usually loose interest when simple jobs become a struggle due to lying flat on your back in the rain etc trying to do a simple job that with a decent space should have taken 30minutes, yet 5 hours later you are still out in the wet trying to do it

If it ends up half as good as yours Ill be pleased!

That's all the original items refreshed, a few broke taking it apart a few were replaced because the garage had a box of new assorted Subaru items which they put on a preference but not that many when you look at the big picture.

 

Awesome, I have my own plating kit in the workshop, cant wait to get it set up

 

Those parts looks great! I made a plating kit years ago and had great results using it. Been looking in to getting rust off using a similar method too. Did they strip them as well or did you have to prep them first?

 

They went as they came off the car, rusty oily and covered in crud.
The bonnet clasp above amazed me the most, it is oem nothing is new on it, it's as it came off the car, from memory part of the process is an acid dip.

Here's a before picture... If I had realised how big the difference was going to be I would have taken a few more detailed pictures.

 

Looking superb Si, glad to see you finally got your hands on a set of Milleniums. I can't think of a better looking rim on an RA and I'm sure the shade of gold will suit too
