I'd say unbolt the centre section and drop that out. Then get the rear box sitting exactly as you want it. Then tweak the centre section to suit.
Should be an easy job for an exhaust fabricator mate, or even someone with some savvy and a TIG set.

There was a place about 20 minutes from me that fitted my other one, that was new age to classic I'll have to see if they are still going.

This is what's under T31 Frayz to make it work, I think I'll have to follow a similar route

How many restos will this thread spawn?

Possibly the most influential and inspiring thread SN has ever had.

It certainly inspires me to go to the next level, but it may take a couple of years

Thanks sorry about that

Stu posted a couple of pictures of his H&S system and it looks great as well, classic design and great finish, I am starting to think this may be more suitable for where I have gone with the car.

Thanks Frayz it's just one of many threads but if it helps someone else to have a go then that's great... I'm no mechanic you know that but I have a ton of patience and that's what gets me through.

Small steps Jon will cover the ground just as well

Currently I am looking on eBay for rubber grommets to block all the holes up on the underneath of the car plus I've mailed a few breakers on here for my snagging list, I also need four tyres as the ones I have will rub and the exhaust question as well !

When I get this car home I'm going to sit down for a week switch my head off and look at the wall for a break

In that case mate I'd go with a genuine Prodrive rear box and custom centre section. The H&S stuff is heavy and has hideous welding.
I'd never buy another of their systems and I've had 2.

Known around here as Hayward & Snot. Lol

I'm thinking about doing a welding refresher course - might even get work to subsidise the cost

The original Scoobysport box is quality mate

The classic STi Prodrive boxes are too restrictive and rust

I know your bits cracked and looked like they'd been under sea, but the Scoobysport is a goodun Mine has lasted years despite being a Hayward and Snot

Certainly for the rally look as well

I was just telling Stu I dug my old P1 back box earlier out of the old shed earlier as I wondered if it was any good but when I dragged it out off the floor somehow it has got full of water ! There's a load inside it and it was pouring out from both ends one for weighing in I think

Did someone mention exhausts?

You won't go far wrong with a nice Milltek, I think they are about the best systems out there or what about a custom made Cobra (they do very nice quiet systems as well).

That's easily overcome though, I'd forgotten about the Revolution stuff it looks good quality as well as good value.

Scaffolding tube I bet that's already been done !

All sorted now Kev picked a tester up for a stop gap as I can't use it with the HKS attached as it is.

A question I was forgetting, has anyone got a picture of the front number plate bracket... It's been removed off the bumper for paint but I can't find it as I'm not sure what it looks like

As above, I think a Miltek adapted to fit would suit the car well.

Car is looking amazing mate, although certainly different from that conversation we had when you were buying it

Holy Moley what more can I say

Thanks Gary and yes I have wandered off track a little but all for the right reasons.... I better up the cover a bit as well before I get on the road !

I've picked up a back box for now and then I'll look towards getting it sorted fully in the early part of next year, maybe a second hand Miltek will pop it's head up if I keep an eye open I certainly liked the one I had on the new age or I may decide on the H&S we shall see but I am thinking a more classic design will suit where the car has gone to in its classic look.

I don't subscribe to many threads but I'm glad I did this one..

What a car your creating and your attention to detail is admirable.
I'd love to one day have the time and money to do this to my RB5, one day..
Keep up the great work

Stu is spot on, original ScoobySport back box is perfect for the classic; nice sound, right proportions and disappears from a distance. Made by Hayward & Scott.

Not had any issues with any Hayward & Scott stuff, I was there a few weeks back having my decat sleeved for my 182 and there was an amazing D Type having a full exhaust and Chris Evans 250 Lusso...if they are good enough for a million pound fezza i think they will be OK for for this application Si

Cheers Ian Joe I've picked up an old H&S back box as you and Stu have Ian found it at a good price and worth a fettle..... I can then try it out for looks and volume and if I'm happy in the spring I can always get a new one if needed, we shall see how well it comes back to life first. I will leave the resonated centre section in for now and see how it sounds.
