Halfords are not called HalFRAUDS for nothing!!
I think you will find that the higher price only has to be charged at one or more of the retailer's stores anywhere in the UK for a period of 28 days prior to the sale price being introduced.
It's how a lot of national retailers can get away with this sharp practice, good business they would call it - fool the buyer into thinking they are getting a bargain, when in reality they are paying more than the previous 'local' price.

I wasn't referring to this particular situation with Halfords, what I am saying is that the sharp practice of selling goods are a higher price when on 'sale' is perfectly legal and above board.
The retailer may offer product X at one store for £50, and then sell it at another store for £70 - the retailer then puts product X on sale at all stores for £56 (£70 less 20%) which is less than a price previously charged at one of it's stores.

If you want cheap stuff from Halfords, find someone with a trader/staff discount card.
Anyway, satnav? FFS ever heard of google shopping?
Anyone up for a "double discount" sofa from SCS/DFS/Harveys etc. ? Yeah, right. Like it was ever worth the retail price in the first place?

Never take their word for it! Always ask to see it in writing.
They opened a new Halfords & everything was 25% discount on the first weekend.
I was in the market for some OZ Utraleggeras so bought a set with tyres fitted so quite a bargain.
They said the 'Graphite' colour I wanted where not in the offer.
I asked to see that in writing & where it said that on the display that offered the wheels at 25% off............................
they couldn't!

In my experience, Halfords is just about the most expensive place you can go for anything motoring related
Last year, i needed a new battery on the Merc i had then- £129 in Halfrauds. Quick look online and got the same Bosch battery delivered for £80!!
Anything else ive needed, always had a quick look in-store ( its next to supermarket so dont make a special trip) seen how much they want to rip you off for and then i go online and get whatever it is cheaper somewhere else.
I can only think its peoples laziness that they ever stay in business anymore!

Well, as things have turned out, I received the TomTom Live 825 off the darling wife!!
She was panicking when I went online to buy the inferior Via 130 - in this case, Halfrauds dishonesty has worked in my favour
Will try the new SatNav tomorrow ..... of course, in 12 months, TomTom will want £45 to continue to supply Live to it!!

Only real men apologise - so, I doubt you will.
The only time halfords are cheap is with a trade card, I have one, these are my purchases the other day-
Wiper blade set front £16.49 with trade card £6.61
Headlamp bulb £6.99 with trade card £1.66
Front side lamp bulb twin pack £2.99 with trade card £0.54
Smaller discounts off tools & oils, but beat my local 'trade motor factor' by £8 on a battery.

You poisonous little man ..... I've wiped better than you from the bottom of my shoe, but, just this once, I post for you the letter from DSG retail Group conceding defeat at my hands in the Courts.

If it was true Pedro, why not answer my questions properly instead of the vague drivel that you came up with?
I was trying to help you get what you wanted quickly and without having to go to court, as I had for several other members here.
On the assumption that the letter is genuine, I apologise. I do though, still think that youre a forum spoiling bell-end.

I did thank you for your offer at the time, that was heartfelt .... just I wasn't going to let CURRYS off the hook.
The letter is genuine, as you can see ... as the County Court records for that date also show.
I accept your apology .... I'm a very big man too.

i only ever use halfrauds if im absolutely stuffed trying other places. and i know its a bit naughty but if i see a customer looking at the stereos ive informed them of cheaper places to try that sell better spec goods than the store. you do get strange looks tho lol
£104.99 free delivery at Amazon (if you want to use them) or £99 elsewhere on the NET.
Report Halfords to trading standards. Its only because people are so lazy they get away with breaking laws.
