I've not said under 30s are bad drivers. I'd say that under 20s are simply due to lack of experience.
Anyway, whatever age anyone is, it's always good to see fellow enthusiasts. Did my IAM test at 22, cop training soon after. Still make far too many mistakes.
aye, but its all a learning curve, am hoping to be fairly competitve at hillclimbs next year, i know th car can do it, so is just a test of what i can do now, will be running in the same group as the kit cars etc though, so it will be tough!
Ive driven 100k + miles a year since the age of 17, i drive all day every day, along with numerous track days, drag events etc, and IAM courses. I own numerous performance cars and have worked extremely hard to pay for and have them.
So yes, I drive far more and have more qualifications than your average driver. actually.
That's brilliant ...... 600,000 miles under your belt is quite a distance!
You must have crashed quite a lot in that time .....

twice, once definitely my fault, once definitely not my fault, Once was due to inexperience on new tyres in the wet.
And the 2nd time was hit head on by a more mature lady who "didnt see me" when over taking on a piece of road, even though i was in a high top transit will all my lights on, i was stationary by the time she met me
And PSLewis, you can do simple maths too, well done. Do you want a medal?

Were you overtaking? And therefore on the Mature Ladies side of the road?
I would say they were both your fault ......... in all honesty.
No i was safely on my side of the road. Hardly my fault she over took a queue of traffic with me on coming and left me no where to go other than in the hedge and stamping on the brakes... struggle to fit 2 cars down this road, definitely no room for 3 lol
Of course you have never crashed or driven dangerously at all have you? Maybe if you did you wouldnt be so much of an ****
I have had Motorbike Accidents and Car Accidents, of course I have.
Just that I have never met such an example of a young 23 year old with such vast experience and skills as your fine self - certainly, all transit drivers I have seen are complete and utter bellends ... I'm so glad that you are not one of them.
It may have been my Ford Cortina, Zephyr or Zodiac which had Cross-plys? But, I did think my Capri had them too? Old age plays tricks with ones memory!
I do not dispute that driving back in my day was extremely dangerous - that's why we either became superb drivers or died.
I can guarantee that any kiddie under 30 - maybe even 40 - would crap themselves if put behind the wheel of a 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's car. They would certainly crash within yards ......... hence my comment that they cannot *REALLY* drive.
Give me a 2.8 capri mate n ill be happy to drive it mate. Think your comments are a bit unfair tho. I agree with you that some young adults drive like planks. Ive pulled enough out of wrecked cars on spinal boards but due to their lack of experience dont instantly mean they are all bad. One of my mates refuses to even take his pug 307 petrol above 3k in revs. Hes been accident free 10years now
Leslie statistics mean f-ck all, the fact is the only reason that old guy didn't become a statistic yesterday was because other people had their wits about them
I don't deny what you say about that incident, and I have seen similar. I have also seen some very close major accidents due to young drivers trying to imitate their hero racing drivers and getting away with it purely by good luck.
Of course statistics are significant, they are collected on vast numbers of incidents and accidents and cannot be denied for your own convenience.
Try asking the odd insurance man what he says about them!
If people all ignored the forum spoiling, attention seeking bell end, then he woudl have left long ago.
hes a stupid old pr1ck!
he comes on here to get reactions from everyone.
think we should start a poll about him titled "do you like pslewis" lol
i bet over 70% say no.
pslewis

I haven't read the whole thread but I very much think there should be restrictions on her under 25s can drive and for the first 5 or so years of driving.
Too many arrogant little *******s getting cars bought for them by daddy or signing up for HP/loans and getting cars that are too good for them.
I'm only 29 (next month) and when I passed my test at 17 you had a 1.2 nova or a corsa of you were lucky! People were pratting about in xr2s or Astra gte's etc
Now, you got the likes of them tools that killed each other on the m1(?) the other week. A 3series, 5series and a merc, all racing, 1 hit the central reservation and it was game over.
Who the **** let them out driving them cars?
Often thought that on holiday with regards sit on jet skis, pretty rapid pieces of kit for what must be 90% novice riders, hence so many reported accidents I guess.
