Yes, in pure political terms in would be advantageous to the torys
But the official name of he Tory party is the Conservative and Unionist Party, so I suppose the clue is in the name

Nevertheless, it is still a finite resource that will inevitabally run out that may last, what until the end of this century or early part of the next with rising costs as it gets harder to extract? Question is will it give Scotland enough time build another economy not based on oil? You're right I don't know much about the industry you're in, but its good that you enlighten us in a reasoned debate.
Luckly tho one of the things most of us Scots hate about scotland is the bad windy weather is acctually a very good thing as we are starting to use this to our advantage
With wind farms and hydro power too
And the growing technology in these fields should of advanced enough by the time oil runs out to keep us going well fingers crossed anyway.
Besides there is more to Scotland than just oil anyway as we do acctually export many things as well

John, you're an intellgent guy... they are not socialists, not by a long chalk! There are no true socialists left in British politics... the Labour Party still have the word in their core policies statement, but they also have words like truth and honesty so I think we know how much weight that carries!

They don't want their own currency. They want to keep the Pound.
As said previously, by someone else, if I was a Scot I would want cold hard facts about what is really going to happen and how will it really affect the average Scot and not keep hearing about Salmonds wish list.
I haven't really delved in to all the facts I have to admit but everyone I speak to (on both sides) agrees that there seems to be a lot of unanswered questions.

I'll make a deal with you. If you go independent send us all your 'socialists' and you can have Cameron and Miliband

So what is the feeling in Scotland? Is there an indication of which way the vote is likely to go?
Probably hard to tell of course but I was wondering if there is an indication that there is likely to be a landslide vote in one direction or the other.

lmao, is salmond in cloud cookoo land or is he just tryign to win the vote with BS?
He says scotland will get straight into the EU, EU says they wont.
He says scotland will keep the pound and fall under the bank of england, yet the brit gov say they wont.
He says that all national debt will stay with westminster and none go to scotland.
Does anyone actualy believe a word he says?

Oh btw - I believe Salmond has been quite clear on Scotland taking its share of the UK national debt.
Personally I hope the UK remains as is.
