Cool

I have read it, you haven't posted up anything that would suggest how things are going tobe funded after independence.

Are you going to make another last post, to go with your las,t last post? IIRC, you also said you wouldnt post again much earlier on.

Like the SNP, full of empty promises

Do you promise not to post anymore?

I'm all for Scottish Independence if the people vote for it (my parents live in Ayr and I was born there). However if you believe all the SNP rhetoric and lets be honest, lies; then you're a bigger fool than you come across as.

I asked you to post links to some of your outlandish claims earlier, you failed on that one.

You've posted about oil reserves being 50+ years. Again, show me the link, I can't find anywhere on the net that predicts anything past 2040.

And finally, being Scottish but residing in England I feel qualified to look at it from both sides. You along with nizmo80 both come across as so anti English. Luckily the majority of us Scots aren't.

Without a ******* doubt yes.

Were not Scotish as you put it, were not Scotch as we often get referred to, we're Scottish that's with two T's and no C, great neighbours you lot are that don't even know what were called but hardly surprising since most English see Scotland as being the bit at the top of England or just another Shire of England

Genuine question.. If Scotland achieves independence, does that mean they will all need to apply for new passports, including those living in England? Or will those living in England they now be classed as British (as apposed to Scottish) and keep their British ones? What are the rights of non-British citizens working in the UK? Will they need to apply for work permits, etc?

Ok then the C that normally follows the T!

Maybe I should have said there's no H then?

I will just reiterate though, given a few people have allegedly posted their last posts, that in my experience, the more educated, travelled and informed the Scot is, the less likely they are to be caught up in the independence furore. Just saying as i find.

Ever stop to think the English might want independence from the rest?

If Blair and Brown are anything to go by, then I wish you all the luck in the world with an independent Scottish parliament!

Typo, you wally. Also, see my previous post about being half Scottish.

I dont think that Scotland can stand on its own financially. When talk of independence first gathered pace it was no secret that an independent nation would have to rely heavily on the EU and Im not sure that this can have changed a great deal.

Irrelevant to me though, because I believe that Scotland needs England as England needs Scotland. Both countries are far bigger together than the sum of their parts if separated.

I fear we have scared him and his mate Rab c nizmo , no doubt the thought of having to dig into their own pockets to fund their great nation was all a bit too much for them.

But a slightly jaundiced view, presumably if they were rabid Scots nationalists these Scots would be living/working in Scotland

Instead of earning a living in London

The exception is off course Sean Connery, who believes in an independent Scotland, and is often found faxing articles to the national newspapers regarding this topic all the way from his villa in Monaco

Tut, tut, no need to be rude.

I bare no allegiance to any nation, i'm a man of the world.

As for slum dwelling, living in scotland your more qualified to talk about that than i am.

FYI, i'm in a stone farm house on a big hill, that over looks a valley to the sea, in one of the most beautiful places i ever been.

Yes that's what i mean, the more insulated and ill-informed the Scot, the more independence looks like a fabulous ideological dream.

Sean Connery, living the dream. Plastic Scot now and so therefore pays into this same ideological Utopia, after all, he couldn't care less if the sums add up or not, his beloved Scotland would still be independent, and he can fly his Saltire high along with Camesdin and the others. It's tragically unfunny.

Well i'm proud of the United Kingdom, proud to be British, and Dark Ages reasons for breaking it up sadden me, that's about as succinct as i can make it.

I'll bite. You know what I do for a living (I think?)

I'm educated, travelled and extremely informed. I'm far from caught up in it, however I do think that it can work. And I'm prepared to take the chance.

DD, yep, you're at the other end of the spectrum where it doesn't matter if the sums add up, like Mr Bond, so you might as well go for the ideological dream. I get that, i really do.

It's not dark ages reasons though. It's financial, tax and legal independence more than anything.

We would still be neighbours, allies and ( dare I say it) friends. Businesses that operate north and south of the border would still do so. Trade links wouldn't change.

It's not as big a thing as many would try and convince otherwise

And for those reasons, it just doesn't make sense to change what's worked well in the modern era for many years, in my opinion. "Scotland are independent". Hoorah. The United Kingdom no longer exists. Sad day. And for what? Ideological Scots. As you say it's pointless discussing it with me because my views are entrenched, mainly from having spoken at length to a fair few of "your lot" to get both sides of the argument. If it happens it happens, and i guess we'll have to re-convene then to discuss the ramifications.

Phaa!! I would much rather live up here in scotland rather than alot of the run down council estates south of the border where shootings
and robberys are common place.
sure up in scotland we do have chavs and neds and anti social problems but some of the council estates south of the border I would class as proper slums as it would be dangerous to even walk the street.

FYI, i'm in a stone farm house on a big hill, that over looks a valley to the sea, in one of the most beautiful places i ever been.

its nice that someone actually escaped the ghetto

Completely off-topic, but I found the pink Subaru badge that you gave me (in about 2004) earlier today!
