The worse thing for me is that she drew the will up 2yrs before he died, if the reports are to be believed, unless she back dated it and the reports are wrong. Which would then lead me to believe she possibly had a hand in his demise, but at the very least had bad intentions from early on in their marriage.
There are some very nasty people in this world and she is most definitely one of them.

Smith faked the signatures of her husband, another legal secretary and a solicitor on the bogus document she drew up in 2010.
After his death in November 2012, she told his family she didn't believe he had a last will and testament.
However, she later produced the paperwork - back-dated to February 2011 - which left their £500,000 house and £420,000 pension to her.

Hello, I chose not to respond to any of the discussions on here (or anywhere else) that occurred when my dad died, I am sure you will all realise now why, and how
it has been the most difficult time. However, I feel it important to now say thank you because I did get some comfort from the majority of comments and clearly see that despite him being quite a unique dad (those who know him personally will know what I mean!!) he was very well thought of within this community. So thank you it is good to know there are a lot of good people out there who thought well of my dad.

Tess I knew Harvey very well indeed we were strong friends not only in the Subaru world, as you say he was indeed very unique but that was what made him what he was, such a generous man yet he would not brook anyone he considered a fool.
He fought his health battles with a very brave heart and was winning despite his frustration at it all. He would help anyone whom he felt deserved help and this manifested itself in all areas of his life not just the Subaru community.
I am very proud to have been his close friend.
all the very best if I can be of any help at any time then do not hesitate

As i worked with harvey modifying his, my own and other subarus
over the years he became a good frieind to me and my family
i had the utmost respect for him and still think when modifying cars
would harvey do it like this
as many have said he would go out of his way to help
Cant believe the lengths some will go to for money

Very sad can only reiterate what Bob, Darren & many others have said, knew Harvey for over 10 years, he was a genuine, honest guy helped me out many times & would never take advantage of anyone, many times I had to contact him to pay my bills as he'd forgotten or not got round to writing them

Absolutely Disgusting!!
Feel so much sadness and pain for Harveys daughters and close family, they must have been going through hell. Not only have they lost their father, son, brother (whatever) that they loved but to have lost everything he'd worked for...to provide for his family.
People like this should be made to suffer, as they have caused others to suffer.... then waste nothing on them and put a bullet in their head!!!
If punishment was worse there would be less people trying stunts like this
and if it didn't work to achieve this, well, at least there would be less of these horrible people absorbing our money in jail!!

If there is no will then the law of intestacy kicks in. That ought to mean his children are taken care of. There's still the matter of the statutory legacy for the spouse to deal with.
If that doesn't properly provide for them, then there's an Act of Parliament which assists family and dependents. In the circumstances, I'd expect a court to take a favourable stance.
The biggest problem is, as I understand it, the nasty bitch sold off a load of assets. That may be tricky to reverse.
I find the whole thing astonishing, not least of all the manner in which she started this thread. Shows just what a duplicitous, manipulative stain on humanity she is.

Not sure why they think that.

However, this can be challenged under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975 If the estate did not make (broadly) sufficient provision for the daughters.
I obviously don't know the facts, but assuming they were able to make such a challenge, my guess is that a court would be pretty keen to see them right under the circumstances.
This isn't my area of specialism, but I've bumped up against it in my career a couple of times. Were I in their shoes I'd be looking at that.

Since she has been convicted, would that not have a bearing on it? I.e she's got no claim to the estate?
Don't know, just thinking out loud.
