Indeed .... Thatchers Tories taught us to take what we like, when we like.
Blair tried to add 'caring' into the system but simply added the article called 'chav' ..

I managed to get a good bargain on a couple of "Humax Youview DTR-T1000". I got £100 off each of them.
Ok, admittedly their list price of £279.99 is a little bit more expensive than some online retailers, but at £179.99 each after discount, I reckon I got a bargain.
(If I was only buying one, the price would've been £195.99. Still a bargain though)

Sorry to have called your heroine, but we live in a dog eat dog society thanks to her government and what came after! Say what you like about the 60s and 70s but at least people looked out for one another and had a code of ethics even amongst the criminal fraternity.

Well they had to as everyone had a lot less money and were forever on strike.

My local Independant is with Euronics .... his prices went UP not down. He will haggle, but struggles getting close to Online prices ...... but, he is just 300 yards away and sells everything from Fridges to Sofas from Light Bulbs to 60" 3D TV's - so, his proximity wins for me (mostly).
Last item I bought was a Dishwasher from ARGOS - £210, delivered, fitted and old unit taken away ..... how can they do that?

If somebody comes in with a online price and they want that price matching or beating then we supply on the same terms. Ie dropped off in the house with no unboxing, no installation and no disposal. People can't have it both ways.

The march of the Online Shopping Experience shows no end.
DSG should go under simply based on their utter terrible Customer Service!

No goods supplied = breach of contract so should be zero issue terminating the credit agreement. Just write to Santander and explain and confirming the agreement is now cancelled. Don't even need to speak to Comet who's staff, to be honest, will have zero understanding of the implications of the Administration appointment.
For everyone elses benefit too, the fact that Comet are now in Administration would normally mean that even if (in this case) the oven was in the store and ready for delivery, you as the customer would be able to reject it, cancel your credit agreement and walk away.
You would, however, lose any deposit paid, unless paid on a credit card in which case your card provider is duty bound to refund the deposit.

As it happened it was 12 days after ordering the oven, and Comet had a no quibble cancellation policy within 14 days, so managed to get the deposit refunded to us and the finance refunded to Santander.
Their fire sale is crap. We went in there last night to see if they had a deal on any Rangemasters they have in stock. 10% off the price of a basic Rangemaster 90, that they are trying to sell for £1400.
Currys are currently selling the next model up for £999, plus an extra £100 off if you trade in your old oven.
Also, when we ordered the oven a few weeks ago, we also looked at their netbooks, as that is what the kids want for xmas.
We saw the same model in store yesterday, and they had put the price up before reducing it back down to around the price they were selling it for in the first place!
