In true Scoobynet style I have skim read the entire thread and have a few half arsed, not particularly well though out points to make.

For me Independence is not really achievable in any way that will make a real difference to me or my kin. I earn well, work hard-ish and do what I can to provide for my family.
Free prescriptions, great, but I can afford them and would be happy to pay for them, same for Uni education. I like most, I think, are happy to pay my way, it is the free loading letches that **** me off. Pretty sure an Independent Scotland will not be able to sort out this particular drain on our society.

So what does Independence offer me? Nothing I can see that would make any real difference to my life, do we need it? Ok, it would be good for some people to use this as a chance to forge ahead creating a better country, more in tune with the needs of the Scottish people, but not for me. I, like most, will be happy to potter along making sure the things that are important to me get attended to. Family and friends.

However, I do think that Alex Salmond is a compete ***-tard, and anything forged by him might as well be forged in chocolate, deep fried or not.

I will leave the politics to those who know more about it, but in reality, will Independence actually make any dicernible difference?
