Yep, gotta say i'm not a huge fan.

Chap i know has had his motor wrapped in a metallic grey and it looks decent enough, but it just isn't shiny and because yours is a rather expensive motor, i feel it cheapens it a bit. Matt finish fine, it's supposed to be flat, but as it is....nope, sorry.

Seems very bright too? I seem to remember Midnight Purple being very dark?

Its not technically midnight purple, but its the closest we have yet to see. The quality of the vinyl and work will make a major difference. Also keep in mind that these photos will lose the edge a fair bit, I saw Andys car before the purple wrap and they dont do the car justice. I know VMs work and the pics never do the cars justice. Bright harsh light, standard little camera... Give me a couple of hours, with flashes, my dSLR and a decent location and it will be 2nd to none!!

Anyone know of a warehouse or airfield that I can use for photos

drb5......the wrap was literally a few hours old when photos were taken, as graham says camera not that great as if ou look at the background its also a bit blurry/flat.....once the wrap has been on for a week or two and cured can start getting some wax on it and polish it up. Never going to be as shiny as paint, but then also this wrap isn't £6k like a minight purple paint job is and its an awful lot easier to repair scratches chips than having to match up midnight purple paint....

This is a true midnight purple GTR it's not a million miles of....

Cheers Alloy/Graham.

Mani benefit of wrapping, is you can always change the colour...just watch the plod doesn't pull you over....unless you go to the trouble of changing the V5?

Temporary colour change so don't need to notify V5 change, said to insurer there's a temp colour change and they said if you gave someone an hour could they strip it back to silver....i said yes and then they said well its a silver car for their purpose....

Whoever wrapped it is seriously talented. I have had a go at applying vinyl before, and to say it was a complete disaster is being very kind to myself. That was just signs on the side of a bus. Can't imagine the skill required to wrap that GTR.

I did wonder about the insurance and V5 thing as well. Interesting to know.

Forged Projex wheels

ValetMagic is rather good with vinyl and detailing... I have used them for detailing and wrapping my GTR. I was very tempted to get them to do a matte clear wrap over the WRC blue scooby I used to have, but sold the car before I could.
